My old classroom was interesting because three side of the classroom were made from glass. I enjoyed sit close to the windows and looking at the view. On the left-hand side of the class, I could easy see the football field. In the mornings, it was full of students exercising. The view from the back of the classroom is also splendid. Close to the school there was a beautiful park with many trees around them. Farther in the distance, I could not enjoy the view of snowy mountains. On the right side of the class was the road. I was always interested to see the drivers in hurry in the morning. The position of the classroom with its view made me felt like I was dreaming. If I was only a child when I studied in that classroom, I will never forget it.

    I am interesting in spiders (蜘蛛), so this summer I watched them for quite long lime. Spiders don't look beautifully, but they have their own way of killing flying insects. They often build “bridges” between branch. They climb up a branch slowly, pulling some silk. Then they pull the silk towards another branch. When they built many “bridges”, they begin to form webs. As long as insects happen to touch the webs, no matter what hard they try, they can't escape. One day, there was a stronger wind, and the webs were broken, but the spiders still went on to building their “bridges”. They are not afraid with difficulties. As students, we should learn from it.

    I took the Harvard Summer School program in my vacation. During my stay there, I spend a lot of time studying in the main library Widener. I enjoyed myself in the ocean of knowledges, either doing research for my papers or read special edition books. The library, which it is named after its donor Harry Widener, stands right next to the Emerson building of philosophy. Opening a pair of heavy yet elegant metal doors, I was immediate bathed in warm light. I wandered around the library, fascinating to find one treasure after other.

    The library is a amazing place. One can fully experience the academic atmosphere only he visits the library. For me, the library as well as the courses explain Harvard's place as the home of devoted scholars.

    I'd like to introduce Sarah to you. She is a good friend of me. Actually she is an exchange student from Ireland, which has been studying in my school for two month. Wanting to take an advantage of her short time here, Sarah works hardly. She had not studied Chinese before arriving here, but she has some difficulty communicating with people. She woke up early every morning to study a bit before class. I admire her independence for doing all of this while live so far away from her family. Besides, Sarah is in great help. Busy as she is, she often takes time help classmates with their English homework. A lovely girl, isn't she?

    As the saying goes, chances favored the prepared mind. I learned this from one of my experience.

    I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.

    From this, I am firmly convincing that, no matter when chances arrive, we were able to seize them as long as we get well prepared.
