Shut Up Zoos, Not Animals!

You may think that visiting zoos is harmless fun, but you're wrong because zoos are just prisons(监狱) for animals. The difference is that prisoners get out after a few years! Animals in cages look bored and are boring to look at. After all, we all know what an elephant looks like, we've seen them on TV. So why make animals suffer by shutting them up for our fun? Shut up the zoos instead!

I partly agree. But some zoos aren't there for our fun. I've just got back from Jersey Zoo. It saves rare animals and breeds them. Then it returns the babies to the wild. Not all zoos are the same, you know.

Quite agree! Every time I go to the zoo, I never look into the poor animals' eyes! Kept in the small and smelly cages, they look so lonely and sad. Hope one day they will return to nature, where they can live happily and freely with their families.

Personally, I think zoos are fantastic places for children. They can play with animals and enjoy themselves so much there. Also, they learn a lot about animals. Why shut up?

    Near the village, there is an old famous temple. Some people want to build a new house where the temple now stands, because they can find no other area to build them, while others disagree with them. They meet to decide how to solve the problem. Here are their opinions about it.

The expert wants to protect the temple and believes that there are some interesting things buried in the ground. If it is destroyed or moved, people may never learn about how people lived in the past.

The businessman thinks that the houses should be built. History is important, but we must think about the future. The village needs development and building new houses will offer jobs to hundreds of people.

Villager A says, "We should build the new houses because we need houses to live in."

Villager B says, "We should protect the temple because it can attract many tourists to come for a visit. If the temple is destroyed or moved, we will lose a lot of business."

The village leader thinks that he has a duty to make life better for the villagers. They need jobs and new houses. He also thinks the cultural site (遗迹) is important and they should be careful with it as well.

Why is music important to people? Because life{#blank#}1{#/blank#}music wouldn't be active. Different kinds of music express different life experiences. So, when we listen to different kinds of music, they can bring us different {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. For example, rock music can make us {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, classical music can make us relaxed; and country music can make us think of the beautiful country life. At different ages, people have different ideas about music. Young people today enjoy pop music {#blank#}4{#/blank#}their parents prefer listening to classical music. Perhaps this is. because young people are {#blank#}5{#/blank#}with energy and faster music can let their energy come out. Their parents have worked very hard during the day and they have got tired when they come back home. So, they would like to listen to classical music to make themselves relaxed. 

Deadly flooding has swept China s northern provinces this summer，causing many losses such as a number of people died and houses were destroyed（破坏） by floods. Like many other natural disasters，floods can happen with little or no warming. Finish floods move quickly and have strong currents（水流）. They are known to bring down trees and take down buildings. Besides，floods can cause power cuts （停电），traffic jam and other problems. But the food itself isn't the only problem to deal with. After the flood，it may have deadly results，as it may not be easy to send food and water to the area. 

So In the face of a flash food，how should we save ourselves？

*Don't use bridges that rapidly﹣moving water is crossing，as floodwater can cause bridges to break. 

*Listen to emergency broadcasts （应急广播） for more information. If told to move to another place，do so. 

*Stay inside the car if the car Is caught in the fast﹣moving water. Only get out if the water begins to food the car itself，and then move to the roof（项部） of the car. 

*Stay away from power lines （电线），as they are knocked down during the strong storms. Besides，here is something to keep in mind after a flood. 

*Do not use floodwater to wash food or drink it. 

*Return to your home only after the government has said it is safe to do so. 

*Use only bottled or clean water for drinking cooking are nothing.
