Reporter: Today, we invite May to share her experience of learning Spanish. May, when did you begin to learn Spanish? Why?

May: I started learning Spanish when I was six with the help of my mum. I chose to learn Spanish because I wished to become a doctor in Spain in the future. Learning Spanish allows me to help patients better.

Reporter: Is there anything surprising when you learn Spanish?

May: Yes, of course. At first, I didn't expect Spanish would be easy for me. But then I found there were some similarities (相似处)between English and Spanish. Some words in both languages have the same meaning and pronunciation. Putting those two languages together makes it much easier for me to learn Spanish.

Reporter: What's the best way of learning a language? Can you share it?

: May: The best way is speaking. You don't have to spend hours practising. But speaking some words in Spanish in my life helps me remember things easier and keep the language in mind.

Reporter: Do you have any other advice for those who start to learn a new language?

May: Taking detailed notes is also a great way. I write Spanish with a black pen and English with a red pen. That helps me understand it faster and better.

①One morning, I got up early and decided to make an apple pie for my mum. I called my grandma for help, followed a TV program to make jam and waited excitedly. I enjoyed every step so much that I didn't notice three hours pass by. Although the pie looked terrible and was not that delicious, Mum ate it up and told me it was the best pie that she had ever had. For the first time, I realized that although I made a terrible pie, I really enjoyed the process.

②The process is important because it brings us something bigger than the result itself. That is, we always have new experiences during the process, which may help us improve our skills or form good relationships with others. If we just concentrate on the result and do not enjoy the process, we will be more likely to feel disappointed and want to give up. As a result, we will never understand the real meaning of success.

③ But in this busy world, we see many successful people are in competition. How can we enjoy the process? Well, the question has the answer in itself.

④Don't always compare yourself with others. Success means different things to us. For some, success means being famous, while for others, it may be health or power.

⑤Slow down. You need to stop expecting immediate results in what you do and learn to be patient. Impatience leads to unhappiness. Do it slowly, but never stop.

⑥Reward yourself. Divide the process into small steps, and give yourself a reward after completing each of them.

"The only constant（不变）in life is change," Heraclitus said in about 500 B.C. That could be more true today.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Technology is out of date almost by the time you buy it. We get plenty of information every day. Francis Bacon said, "Knowledge is power." In fact, there is more information in a newspaper than he would have experienced in his whole life.

Why are we afraid of change? {#blank#}2{#/blank#} After all, who knows what new dangers might appear? However, change is also the only way of development. Nobody can stop it in life. Luckily, our brains become stronger when meeting the unknown. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} To be more imaginative and creative, you should look for and find environments you have no experience with.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} For example, try a new restaurant, or go to a play or a concert you normally wouldn't attend. Small changes can help you gradually get used to uncertainty(不确定). So when bigger things happen, you'll be more fully prepared for them.

People who fear change often stick to a certain lifestyle. They believe they can control the future by doing so. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} If you can move from just accepting it to actively finding it out and dealing with it, you will be successful.

Welcome to my home town—Wenzhou. Wenzhou is a city {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a long history. It is in the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of Zhejiang Province. It has a population of over nine {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. 

My home town is a popular tourist attraction(旅游景点). It is especially famous for many {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of interest, such as the Nanxi River, Yandang Mountain and Yuliao Beach. The weather here is not too hot {#blank#}5{#/blank#}too cold. You can visit it at {#blank#}6{#/blank#} time of the year. In recent(最近的) years, my home town has changed a lot. A large number of people have moved here who are now called New Wenzhounese, so the population is much {#blank#}7{#/blank#} than before. With the fast development, more and more hills are replaced by(被······代替) tall  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. More and more factories are built, and it causes a lot of environmental problems. I hope my home town will become better and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} .

It was half past five in the evening when Sarah came home from work. She walked into the living room and looked after three children. The children were fourteen, thirteen and 'nine years old. They were watching TV. The room was dirty and untidy. There were empty glasses and dirty clothes on the floor. There were cakes on the sofa. Toys were everywhere. 

Sarah got angry. "How dirty and untidy this place is!" she said to her children. "I can't work all day and then do housework all evening. I'm not doing the housework!" And so, Sarah didn't do the housework. She didn't clean. She didn't do 'the dishes. She didn't wash the clothes. Every evening she sat in the sofa and watched TV. 

Two weeks later, every dish in the house was dirty. All the children's clothes were dirty, too. Every trash can,（垃圾桶）was full. The whole house was dirty and untidy. 

Then one day Sarah got very surprised when she came home from work. The kitchen was clean. The children cleaned the kitchen! The next day, the living room was clean, and the children were washing their clothes. Sarah told the children. "OK, III do housework again. But you must help me."

Now Sarah and the three children do the housework together. Then they all sit in the sofa and watch TV.

Know how much you can pay (支付) for the gift

If the gift is too expensive, it will be hard for you to pay for it. Teng Fei is a middle school student and he doesn't have too much money. It takes him about 20 yuan to buy some flowers for his mother as a birthday gift. His mother is very happy. 

Know what your family need

Try to know more about your family and then you can know your family's need. Chen Jie's grandmother lives in Beijing. Chen Jie sends a beautiful sweater to her. The grandmother says it is very special and warm.
