“Troublemaker” was the name given to my friend, Peter, by his teachers. They also said that he had no future and no hope! But now I suggest that anyone who said that should say “1” to him.

    Peter finished Grade Nine, and then went on to study at a technical college. He became the leader of a group of bad boys. After graduation he had2to do, so he just hung around with his friends.

    It looked like nothing could change his life until the day his father died. He3the bad boys and went to help his mother who sold food by the roadside.

    He really pitied his mother and wanted to do something to4her. He loved reading comic books and had been collecting them for years, so he decided that he should sell them. Soon he realized that his5were very popular. So he decided to6his own business. He went around buying comic books from other people. He bought them for 25% and then7them for half price.

    These days, he doesn't have to go around looking for comic books because there are8people coming to his shop to sell their old ones. Now he makes about 55,000 baht (泰铢) a month.

    Peter was a “troublemaker” to his teachers but he is a hero to me.9you are considered by others as a “bad student”, I suggest you ignore (不理睬) what they say. Just do your best in everything. Believe me, one day you can be10, too.

    He was pleased to learn that Chibi knew all the places where the wild grapes and wild potatoes grew. He was amazed to 1how much Chibi knew about all the flowers in our class garden. He liked Chibi's black and white drawings and put them up on the wall to be 2. He liked Chibi's own handwriting, which no one but Chibi could read, and he put that up on the wall.

    Bu t, when Chibi appeared on the stage at the talent show of that year, no one could 3his eyes.“ Who is that?”“ What can that stupid do up there?”

    Until Mr Isobe announced that Chibi was going to imitate(模仿)the voices of crows. “ Voices?”“ Voices of crows?”

    4he imitated the voices of newly hatched crows. And he made the mother crow's voice. He showed how crows cry early in the morning. He showed how crows cry when the village people have some unhappy accident. He showed how crows 5when they are happy and cheerful. Everybody's mind was taken to the6mountainside from which Chibi probably came to school.

    Chibi made very special 7deep down in his throat(喉咙)to imitate a crow in an old tree in the end. Now everybody could imagine8the far and lonely place whe re Chibi lived with his family.

    Then Mr Isobe explained 9 Chibi had learned those calls--leaving his home for school at sunrise, and arriving home at sunset, every day for six long years.

    Every one of us cried, thinking how much we had been 10 to Chibi all those long years.

    He was a boy beyond our usual imagination!

    Roger was new in town, and he had no friends here. His birthday was coming. He wanted to have a big party, but he was1that other kids would not come to his party.

    One week2the birthday party, Roger and his3went to Benny's Pizza Store. It had the best pizza in the town. Roger wanted a large pizza. He4it very much.

    5, Roger got a great idea. "Will you teach me to cook pizza?" he asked Benny.

The kids didn't believe that Roger could make pizza. But when Roger took the pizza out of the oven（烤箱）, everyone agreed the pizza15just like Benny's. It might be a little bit better.

If you go to a supermarket and find that there is no cashier*, would you still pay for your things?

People in our1 are having a test of honesty* now. The supermarket here has a special area*. This area sells 2 things like pens and pencils. People need to scan* their things, and put the 3 into the cash desk*all by themselves. 4 watches them.

By now, the supermarket runs very5 . People say they enjoy the feeling of being honest. I go to the supermarket to buy a notebook. When I am ready to pay, I find 1 have no money on me. I am just going to put the notebook. 6 when a neighbor* of mine 7 me. He knows what my 8 is. And he says he will be glad to 9 me five yuan and I can give the money back the next day. I thank him and pay for the notebook 10 the money.

Do you think the supermarket is doing a great job? And will you be glad to pay when you are in such a supermarket?

There was a park near my home. But I didn't go there very often because many people said there was nothing special. One afternoon I went into the park. I walked quickly because there wasn't much to see. I walked for some time and found myself standing in front of two paths（小路）, " ▲ " I asked myself. I looked at one path, and then the other. I found that the two paths were different from each other. 

The left one was wide and clean. There were lots of flowers on both sides of the path. Though the flowers weren't very beautiful, they made me feel good. Then I looked at the right one. The path was different from the left one. It didn't look nice. It looked as if it had not been cleaned for months. For a long time, I couldn't decide which path to go along. 

After a while, a strange feeling made me follow the dirty path. It wasn't nice, but I didn't want to give up. At last, I came to the end of the path. To my surprise, there was a small garden. It was beautiful. I thought it was the nicest part of the park. 

Later, I told the others what I had seen in the park, but they just smiled at me without saying a word. I knew they didn't believe me. They couldn't even remember that path because it was so small. 

My trip to the park that day made me learn something about life. Don't be afraid to choose a different path. You may get a big surprise!
