Once there lived an unhappy king who slept badly and didn't feel like eating anything. This made1queen and his people worried. A doctor was called in to2 him. The doctor said it's all in his mind instead of his body. So 3medicine nor rest could help him but a shirt of a happy person.

The prime minister was called to the palace. When hearing the king's situation, he said, “Although I have much power, it doesn't make me4. I'm always worried about losing it.”Then, the king's banker came and said he had lots of wealth, but he also worried about losing it. He was never happy, either. Next, the palace singer came and his words were almost the same.

Finally, the top general was told to find a happy man in5time. Luckily, he found a poor man without power, money or fame singing happily on a street. The general asked him6 made him so happy. The poor man answered that he had everything he wanted and he didn't want those he couldn't have. His songs came from the happiness in his heart. When the general asked for the man's shirt,7, the man said, “What shirt? I don't own any shirts!”

    I was on my way to work. Arriving at the station I found my train was 1 because of the bad weather. I had to 2 for two hours at the bus station. A lady sat beside me. I could notice how 3 she looked. She seemed very worried. I asked her if she was waiting for the next train. She didn't 4 . I asked her again. She replied, "Uhuh. Yes." Then she wiped(擦) her eyes.

    I said, "Hey dear, what is wrong? Why are you crying?" She told me her story. She told me that her father 5 the year before. She used to have a job, but she wanted to look after her sick mother who lived alone, 6 she stopped working. Her family was 7 and she could not pay the doctor's bills (账单) of her mother .Then she said she even planned to kill herself. I was shocked!

    She stayed another half an hour while I tried to comfort her to be brave. I told her I would try to get her a good 8 that would pay well. And I told her to believe she could have a better life.

    On Sunday Mrs. Miller heard that the clothes were on 1in a shop in the center of the town. And they must be2. She wanted to buy a jacket for her seven-year-old son Jacky. So she3the boy up and dressed him. They had some bread and milk for4and then went out. The streets were busy that morning. The shop was too far, but Mrs. Miller didn't want to5a taxi (出租车) because she wanted to save some6. Then she saw a No, 8 bus across7the street. It could take them to the shop. But the traffic lights (红绿灯) were red.8she went across the street to take the bus at this time. She would break the traffic rules. But she was9the bus would leave so she quickly ran to the bus with her son. The policemen near them found it and told her to10. She knew they would fine (罚款)her. She thought for a 11 and found an idea. She turned around to her son Jacky and said something to Jacky12and then went to the policemen

    "This boy doesn't13his way, sir." said Mrs. Miller. "I don't find his parents and I am14about him."

    "Thank you, madam. We can help him," a policeman said

    "Take it easy, little friend, the policemen will drive you15. Goodbye. The woman said to her son.

    "Bye, mummy!" called out Jacky.

As a parent, Mrs. Miller should set a good example for her son: Follow the traffic rules and never tell a lie (撒谎).

    In the past, I didn't get on with my parents. I hardly talked to them, because they liked to1me with my sister. And that made me2 I sometimes argued with them about this.

    However, I wanted to show them that I could do things as3as my sister. Then I began to spend most of my free time painting in my bedroom. Luckily, my art teacher, Miss Green, 4 me a lot of help. She taught me some drawing 5 to help improve my paintings .At that time, she was the only people person I would like to talk to.

    One day, I told Miss Green about my problem. She6 me to take part in a painting competition .In her7, the best way to communicate with my parents was to prove myself to them.

    After a few weeks waiting, the result finally came out. I was very happy and excited, 8 I got first prize! When I took the prize home, my parents were very9! They never thought I could do good Job. I could see that they were very happy. And they began to care more about me .Now, relations between my parents and me are very good.     The first day of university our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't know. I stood up to look around when a1hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled(有皱纹的) , little old lady with a smile. She2a minute and said. "Hi, handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and responded "Of course you may!" and then she gave me a big one.

    We became immediate friends. Every day for the next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I always loved listening to this "time machine"  3she shared her wisdom and experience with me. Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus role model and she4made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she loved the attention from the other students.

    At the end of the term we invited Rose to speak at our football club. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the platform. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her cards on the floor. A little upset she simply said. "I'm sorry I'm so nervous. I5beer for Lent(大斋节) and this wine is killing me！I'll never get my speech back in order" As we laughed, she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There is a huge6between growing older and growing up. Anybody can grow older, but it does take talents and abilities to grow up. .

    One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. However, these words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
