阅读理解

In a village in Uganda, a woman named Fatima ran a small store. She sold food and other useful items. However, she had trouble making enough money to keep the shelves stocked (储存的). To stay in business, Fatima got a microfinance loan - a small total of money from a person in another country. It was just enough for her to buy a cell phone. She let villagers make calls using her phone and charged them some money for each call. This helped her make enough money to keep her shelves stocked with items. Fatima then used the money to send her children to school and improved their lives, as well as her own.

Microfinance is the practice of giving small loans to people in need. Most microfinance loans are for less than two hundred dollars. The loans are used to start or enlarge a small business, such as catching fish, raising chickens or selling produce. Lenders are willing to make these loans because most of the people who receive them are very likely (可能的) to repay the loans.

Microfinance loans are important for several reasons. The businesses that these loans support often provide needed services or goods to their communities. Also, many of the people who receive microfinance loans cannot get money any other way. Although they have to pay a rate (比率) of interest on the money they borrow, the rate is lower than if they borrowed from a local moneylender.

It doesn't seem like such a small total of money could make a big difference, but microfinance loans have been shown to help improve some people's lives and put new life into the communities like Fatima's.

B) 阅读下列短文,掌握其大意,然后从下面方框的七个选项中,选择五个还原到文章中,使短文意思通顺,结构完整

You're chatting with a friend and want to suggest a good book. All of a sudden, you can't remember the title! The harder you try to remember, . the more it eludes (使不记得) you. We've all been there, and everyone knows how hard it is to remember all the information in your head. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

● Repeat important information out loud. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} When you repeat something out loud, you aren't technically memorizing it. You're actually creating a pattern (方式) and sound that will make the information easier to remember in the future.

● {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Turn the TV off while you study and put down the phone while you're driving. When you do different activities at the same time, your attention is divided, which will make it hard to process (处理) the information necessary to remember what you're doing.

● Take notes and write things down. Taking notes will help you memorize the information, even if you never look at your notes again! {#blank#}4{#/blank#} So you'd better use pens and paper if you really want to remember your friend's birthday or an important meeting.

● Take a short walk. Studies show that taking a walk will increase your memory. If you're trying to remember something, spend a few minutes walking around your neighborhood to see if it helps. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}At best, you'll remember the name of that life-changing book from primary school!

A. Pay attention to one thing at a time.

B. Remember to find a good neighborhood.

C. Never watch TV or use mobile phone too much.

D. At worst, you'll get some exercise and relax a little.

E. Say that address, phone number, or date over and over again.

F. Luckily, there are some things you can do to improve your memory.

G. Research shows that it's hard to achieve the same result by writing on your phone.

China introduced the "double reduction (双减)" policy in July, 2022. According to the policy, it should take no more than 90 minutes for junior high school students to finish their homework. Several months have passed since the new term began. Here are the two students' points of view.

"Our homework is clearly less than before," said 15-year-old Xie Dong from Shijiazhuang. "We are not encouraged to buy workbooks any more. The exercises are mainly from the textbook." Students have enough time to learn new knowledge now. "Our teachers are also giving us more chances to do experiments and learn from real life," said Xie. Self-discipline (自律) becomes the key. "Some students now spend more time having fun when homework is finished early. But if you use all the free time to relax, you might fall behind other students," he said. "And we have few exams, I don't think it is a good thing."

For 15-year-old Zhang Jing from Langfang, the best thing about "double reduction" is the increased time in after-school activities. "We can now spend more time taking part in clubs and activities, such as dancing, volleyball and drama. I have joined a group called "leadership development" where I can learn all kinds of skills beyond schoolwork," said Zhang. There are fewer exams now. But it's not necessarily a good thing. "Exams push me to study harder. Each exam shows my progress as well as my weak points," Zhang said.

 阅读下列短文,从下面每题的 A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。

Spider monkeys are New World primates(灵长类). They get their names because they have very long limbs(四肢) and tails, which make them look like spiders. They are often seen with their limbs on different branches.

Spider monkeys can be in tropical forests of Central and South America, from southern Mexico to Brazil. They are 35 to 66 centimeters long and weigh 13 to 26 pounds. They have long tails that they use to catch tree branches, kind of like a 5th hand.

Spider monkeys live in groups. One group usually has dozens of spider monkeys. They communicate with each other through screeches (尖叫声). At night, spider monkeys break off into smaller sleeping parties of about half a dozen or fewer. Unlike many other primates, males (雄性) stay together throughout their lives with the females. They leave their first groups to find another group.

When they go out to look for food, spider monkey groups take separate actions in order to avoid competition for it. They mainly eat fruit and nuts. They also eat other things like insects, honey, leaves, spiders and bird eggs. Spider monkeys actually play an important part in the spreading of seeds throughout the South American rain forests. Enemies that they need to keep an eye out for include animals like lions and crocodiles.

Spider monkeys are dying out. Woodcutting, which leads to the loss(丧失) of their natural living places, is playing a big role in their loss. These monkeys are also hunted for food, or to sell as pets. Spider monkeys are actually one of the most popular monkey pets around because of their look and their behavior. We must do something to protect them. After all, such good and interesting monkeys should live with humans for many years to come.
