It was early in the morning. The sun was very big and the birds were singing happily in the trees. Ahmad and his father would go to Abu Dhabi. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 

    Ahmad sat in front the seat next to his father. They said goodbye to Mom. On the way to Abu Dhabi, Ahmad's father was talking to him about life in the past. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Ahmad's father became very angry for some reason and started shouting. He was so angry that he didn't see a horse crossing the road.

    Ahmad shouted and his father stopped the car at once. They missed the horse, but the car hit a tree. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    A few minutes later, the police came and took them to the hospital. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They took care of Ahmad's father every day until he got well again two months later.

    Ahmad will never forget the great help of the police, the doctors and the nurses. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    There are some differences between British English and American English. In grammar, for example, speakers of British English say "in hospital" and "Have you a pen?". Americans say "in the hospital" and "Do you have a pen?". Pronunciation is sometimes different. For example, when a learner speaks British pronunciation[da:ns] (dance), he may not understand the American pronunciation[dæns]. There are differences between British English and American English in spelling. For example, "travelled" and "honour" are British spelling, "traveled" and "honor" are American spelling. However, in most situations(情况), British English and American English are not different languages.

    Do you go to school by bus? It is very important for you to know how to be safe when taking a bus, no matter whether you like it or not.

    First, don't run to the bus stop, but walk. While you are at the bus stop, you should wait in a safe place. Do not run or play while waiting. And never get into a car with a stranger.

    Second, don't talk in a loud voice when you are on the bus, so the driver will not be disturbed(打扰). If you need to talk with the bus driver, you'd better wait until the bus stop. Never throw things on the bus or out of the windows. Never play near the emergency exit(紧急出口). When there is a fire, the most important thing is to break the window with a hammer or any sharp things and then jump out.

    Third, when you are getting off the bus, make sure you walk (not run) three more steps away from the door. This is the best place to be around a bus. Stay away from the bus wheels and watch out for moving cars!

    Last, if you leave something on the bus, never return(回到) to the bus to get it. The driver may not see you come back and he may begin moving the bus. Also, if you drop something near the bus, tell the driver before you try to pick it up, so he will know where you are.

    Andy was still traveling in Spain when he realized he had to confirm (确认) his     home with the airline company. He was visiting Spain in order to improve his Spanish. When he was speaking to people face to face, he had no difficulty understanding what they said. However, when he was speaking on the phone, he still had a problem. Andy called the airline. And the clerk confirmed that his plane was leaving at nine o'clock three days from that day. She also told Andy to be at the airport a little earlier in order to check in his luggage and get a seat.

    Since he was leaving in three days, Andy didn't lose any time. He visited as many places as he could. He thought that it would probably be a while before he had enough money again. He wished he could come back and spend a year in Spain.

    Too quickly, the final day arrived. Andy left early for the airport before take-off. He hated to rush. When he went to the clerk to show his ticket, the clerk looked at the ticket in surprise, "Why, sir, but your flight was at nine o'clock in the morning, and now it is eight in the evening." "But I confirmed my flight," insisted Andy. "Will I have to pay for another ticket?"

    "No, Sir. However, the next flight out will be three days from now."

    Andy's      of shock turned to smile as he realized that now he could go on with his vacation.

    Tim was a little boy. He was only ten years old. But he liked travelling. Tim was studying in a primary school.(A)Last week he went on a school trip with his teachers and classmates.
