Someone says, "{#blank#}1{#/blank#}" But I think time is even more important than money. Why? Because when money is spent, we can get it back. However, when time is gone, it'll never return. __{#blank#}2{#/blank#}__
It goes without saying that the time is usually limited (有限的). Even a second is very important. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}But it is a pity that there are a lot of people who do not know the importance of the time. They spend their limited time smoking, drinking and playing. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}
In a word, we should save time. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Remember we have no time to lose.
A. That is why we must not waste time. B. Time is money. C. They don't know that wasting time means wasting part of their own lives. D. We should make full use of our time to do something useful. E. We should make use of our time to do everything. F. We shouldn't leave today's work for tomorrow. |
Arctic foxes (北极狐) live in the Arctic. They grow about 50 centimeters long, not including the tail, 30 centimeters tall and weigh from 3 to 7 kilos.
{#blank#}1{#/blank#} The white ones are white in winter, but graybrown in summer. The blue ones are bluegray all year round. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} And the long fur covers their whole body to keep them warm in the low temperature in the Arctic.
Arctic foxes mainly feed on birds, birds' eggs and other small animals. Teamwork is the way they look for food. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}
Baby Arctic foxes are very lovely. They don't open their eyes until a week after their birth. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} They begin to look for food on their own when they are about six months old. The next year they can live alone.
Now the number of Arctic foxes is becoming smaller and smaller, because people kill them for their fur to make beautiful coats. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
从下面五个选项中选出能填入文中空白处的最佳选项。
A. We must do something to protect Arctic foxes. B. For the first half of the year, their parents offer them food. C. Arctic foxes are white or blue in color. D. They don't like to do that alone. E. Arctic foxes have long and thick fur. |
History is still a compulsory (必修的) subject at lower levels and pupils still choose to study it at higher levels. However, there is an outgoing discussion about whether schools should continue to teach history. This passage will deal with the arguments that oppose and support teaching history in school, concluding that we should teach history, because the value of the subject goes beyond the classroom.
First of all, many pupils suggest that history is one of the less interesting school subjects and that governments should spend the time and money on subjects that are more useful. Some people argue that math and English are should spend the money on more important so we can have a society with a good basic education. Other people say that teaching science, as this can move a country forward and benefit the economy. However, when we teach history, we are just looking back at the past. The economic benefits of this area are less obvious.
On the other hand, there are several reasons why it is a good idea to teach history. Teaching history is important because students should be able to understand the background to current issues in the news. This will create better-informed citizens. Another reason is that it helps pupils to understand the culture and background of the society they live in. In addition to learning about the past, history teaching can help students to think for themselves. Finally, it also improves pupils' reading and writing skills, which can help them become better students.
In conclusion, though there are clearly arguments on both sides, it seems to me that we should of the classes. I would say the teaching of history helps to create well-educated generation.

A good book can be satisfying, can improve your knowledge and can teach you a lot. There are several ways to develop a lifetime reading habit.
Set times. You should have a few set times every day when you'll read for at least 5—10 minutes, no matter what happens. For example, make it a habit to read during breakfast and lunch (and even dinner if you eat alone).
Always carry a book. No matter where you go, take a book with you. When you leave the house, make sure to have at least one book. You may keep the book in the car, or into the office or to anywhere you go, unless you're sure you won't have time to read.
Make a list. Keep a list of all the great books you want to read. You can keep this in a pocket notebook. Be sure to add to it whenever you hear about a good book. Keep a running list, and cross out the ones you have read.
Find a quiet place. Find a place in your home where you can sit in a comfortable chair without television or computer near the chair. There should be no music or noisy family members.
Set a high aim. For example, tell yourself that you want to read 50 books this year. Your best to finish reading them. Just be sure you're still enjoying the reading.

It's easy to just get fast food when you're hungry, but it can also be unhealthy and expensive. So I made my own food at home using healthy recipes(菜谱).
Trying new things
I tried some zucchini noodles. Zucchini isn't my all-time favorite, but I was surprised by how good this tasted.
Shaking up(重组) breakfast
Two more days until my healthy diet was over and I felt really good about myself. For breakfast, I had a banana sandwich. Don't let the term "sandwich" fool you. The banana actually works as the "bread".
At-home burrito
I found an easy burrito recipe. I needed black beans, garlic, tomatoes, lettuce and some other vegetables. What a great recipe for vegetables!
