    Recently，there was a report about a special app called "notOK"．A 13-year-old girl Hannah Lucas and her brother Charlie put their heads together to create this app last year．

    Hannah has been suffering from an illness that causes her to pass out since she was little．This is very dangerous if there is no one around．She was also being bullied(欺凌)by some students at school．So she searched for an app that would allow her to press a button so that a friend or a family member would know immediately that she needed help．After realizing there was no such thing，Hannah and her brother decided to do something about it．After some research，Hannah made some early drawings of what the app might look like．Then，after taking a programming class，Charlie began to think about the best way for the app to work．

    They wanted something that would send a text message to up to five contacts that reads："Hey，I'm not OK．Please call me，text me，or come and find me"，along with a link to the user's current GPS location．

    They started looking for someone to help them make the app．And when Hannah shared her dream with people in a summer business class which she attended two years ago，they were really excited about the app．They thought of many different marketing ideas．By mid—December last year, "notOK" app was finished as a birthday present for Hannah from Charlie．"It was exactly what we wanted，"Charlie said．

    In today's age，most people will agree that apps like these are great．Whether you're suffering from illness，or anything emergent(紧急的)，writing a text message or making a phone call to get the help you need can be difficult．

    Hannah is happy to know that her app will help more people．"It's like I went through my dark times so I could help people through theirs，"she said．

    Mickey is a cheerful boy. No one can make him angry. And he never says anything bad about others. Even his teachers think he is so special.

    One afternoon, Mickey invited his favourite teacher, Mr Anthony, to have a cup of tea at home. On his bedroom door, the teacher was surprised to see hundreds of small colour cards.

    "Some friends at school think I never think badly of anyone," Mickey smiled, "but that's not true at all. In fact, I was easier to get angry than all the other kids years ago. Then my parents helped me start a card collection. With each little card I put on the door, I can easily forget the bad thing." It was true. On these cards, Mr Anthony could read "fool", "pain", "anger" and some other bad things. That day they talked about many other things, but Mr Anthony never forgot the small colour cards on the door.

    From then on, Mr Anthony began his own card collection. He also encouraged his other students to do so.

    When Mr. David retired（退休）, he bought a small house in a village near the sea. He liked it and hoped to live a quiet life in it. But to his surprise, many visitors came to see his house in summer holidays, for it was the most interesting building in the village. From morning to night, there were visitors outside the house. They kept looking into the rooms through the windows and many of them even went into the house. He decided to drive the visitors away. So he put a notice on the window. The notice said, "If you want to satisfy your curiosity（好奇心）, come in and look around. Price twenty dollars. "Mr. David was sure that the visitors would stop coming, but he was wrong. More and more visitors came and Mr. David had to spend every day showing them around his house. "I came here to retire, not to work as a guide（导游）, "he said angrily. In the end, he sold the house and moved away.

    My best friends are John and Ann. We do many things together(--起).

    John lives near my house. He's fifteen years old and he's tall and slim，with blonde hair and blue eyes. He's a little bit shy but very clever. He's very good at math and he helps me with my homework.  He usually wears a T-shirt and jeans. We also play basketball at a nearby park together and sometimes we play video games at my house.

    The other friend is Ann. She's short and strong, with straight brown hair and brown eyes. She likes wearing T-shirts and a baseball cap. She never stops talking. She says she would like to be a boy. We all have kung fu lessons every Tuesday and Friday afternoon. We love it. Ann is really good at kung fu. We call her the "Kung Fu Kid". She often plays basketball with us, too. We often have great fun together.
