Do you feel lonely when your best friend isn't around? Here's our advice to you—and to all kinds who feel lonely sometimes.

It's hard when a best friend isn't around—maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feelleft out during break(间歇)or lunchtime. You want to make new friends, but how do you find them? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has his or her own friends. But remember, there's always room for more friends.

Start by looking around your classroom—think about which kids you'd like to play with during break. Look for chances(机会)to say hi to them, smile, and be friendly. Offer(主动提出)to share something or express(表达)your appreciation(欣赏)to them. Invite someone to play with you or say "Do you want to sit here?" in the lunchroom. When you're at break, walk over to kids you want to play with, act(举止)friendly, and say "Hi, may I join you?" or just join in.

If you have trouble(问题)doing this or if you're feeling shy, ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually pretty good at matching(相配)people up. The best way to make friends is to be a friend. Being kind, being friendly, sharing, saying nice things, offering help—pretty soon, you'll have one, or two, or even more new friends.

You might still miss that special best friend. But when you see each other again, you can share something you didn't have before he or she left: You can introduce him or her to your new friends!

It was the final(决赛) of the national high school basketball game. For the first time in their history,a team from a small town faced last year's best team. The players thought they couldn't win and wanted to give up. Seeing this,the coach told them a story.

Peter was a woodcutter. He was afraid he would fall ill and die. His wife told him that as long as his hands and feet were warm,he wasn't dead.

One day,Peter went out to cut down trees. It was snowy and cold. After finishing his work,he noticed that his hands and feet were completely frozen. He thought he was dead,so he stopped working and lay down on the ground.

After Peter had been lying for a while, some wolves came over. They ate all the food in Peter's food bag. The wolves then noticed Peter lying quietly on the ground. They were getting closer to Peter. Peter thought, "If I weren't dead,I would kill you all. " When the wolves saw Peter doing nothing,they ate him.

As the coach finished the story,the players talked about how silly Peter was. At the same time,they realized what their coach wanted them to understand:the opposing(竞争的) team was like the wolves,and they were like the woodcutter. They should fight till the end,whether they were "alive" or "dead".

In the afternoon, the organizers ho id some wonderful competitions and ceremonies for festival- goers, including bamboo- pole climbing, horse- riding, crossbow shooting. People from different age groups enthusiastically join in the competitions, showing their special skills to other people.

Kuoshi Festival is an ethnic carnival when the Lisu people throw themselves in joyful celebration. The exciting and wonderful activities show the colorful lifestyle, bravery and enthusiasm of the Lisu ethnic.
