There was once a spider that lived in a cornfield. She liked this home and planned to stay there for the rest of her life.

    One day, the spider caught a little bug (小昆虫) in her web. Just as the spider wanted to eat him, the bug said: "If you let me go, I will tell you something important that can save your life."

    The spider thought for a little while and listened. "You'd better get out of this cornfield," the little bug said. "The harvest (收获季节) is coming!"

    "I think you are just telling me a story," the spider said with a smile.

    "Oh no, it is true," the little bug said." All the stalks (秆) will be knocked down, and the corn will be. You will be killed by the large machines if you stay here."

    "I don't believe you," the spider said as she ate the little bug for lunch.

    A few days later, the spider was laughing about the story the little bug had told her. She thought to herself: "A harvest! What a silly idea. I have lived here all of my life, and nothing has ever troubled me."

    The next day was a beautiful sunny day. The sky above was clear, and there was no wind at all. That afternoon, when the spider about to have a rest, she noticed something like clouds moving toward her. She could hear the noise of a great engine, and she said to herself: "I wonder what that could be?"

    Mr. Smith has a son. His name is Peter Smith. The young boy works in a bank in a city. He asks his father to visit the city. The old man is very happy and takes a train to the city. But he doesn't know where the bank is. He begins to look for but he can't find it.

    At a bus stop he asks an old woman "Excuse me, how can I get to the bank?" "We have ten banks in the city, which one do you want?" says the old woman.

    The old man shows the son's letter to her and the old woman says， "Walk along this road and turn left at the third crossing, then you can see the bank, It's across from a hospital."

    Mr. Smith thanks her and soon finds his son. After three days, the old man goes to the park. But he can't find the bank again. At the same bus stop he meets the same old woman and asks the same questions（问题）. "Oh, dear!" the old woman call out. "Are you still looking for your son?"

Three hours, thirty-five minutes and thirty seconds. It took Belachew Girma the 1 to set a world record (纪录). This man from Ethiopia didn't set a world record for running or jumping. He set the world record for laughing. That's 2 ! Belachew Girma laughed for more than 3 hours without (没有) 3 !

However, Belachew Girma didn't always like to laugh. In fact, he wasn't very happy in the past. After his wife (妻子) died, Belachew Girma thought he would 4 laugh again. Then, someone taught him how to laugh. Belachew Girma started to know: laughing made him feel good. So he wanted to laugh all the time.

Belachew Girma practiced laughing night and day. The only time he didn't practice laughing was when he was 5 . Someone told Belachew Girma about a laughter 6 and he decided to take part in it. He went on practicing his laughing 7 . After laughing for over 3 hours, Belachew Girma 8 the competition. He 9 a world record holder (持有人)! He didn't have time to be sad or to worry 10 he was always laughing.
