Children don't go to school on Saturdays and Sundays, but they usually have homework to do over the weekend. Some do their homework on Friday afternoon.

  T{#blank#}1{#/blank#} They can enjoy the whole weekend. Others decide to r{#blank#}2{#/blank#} first and do their homework on Sunday afternoon.

   Saturday morning is a popular time for sports and other activities. A lot of schools have sports matches against other schools. Sports centres are usually very  b{#blank#}3{#/blank#}  too. They usually have classes for different things like tennis, basketball, swimming and so on.

  Saturday afternoon is normally the time for professional sports matches. There's always lots of sport on TV. Most rugby and football matches s{#blank#}4{#/blank#}  at three o'clock.

  In the evening, most people want some kind of entertainment(娱乐). Older teenagers go to the cinema or they go dancing at a club. At home, the television has many p{#blank#}5{#/blank#}for family entertainment, such as The X Factor Merlin or Doctor Who.

 On Sunday mornings, people often have alie-in (懒觉).  That means that they get up l {#blank#}6{#/blank#} than they do during the week. Some people go to church on Sunday mornings. Families often have a big Sunday lunch together. The meal is usually roast meat (beef, chicken, etc. ) with v{#blank#}7{#/blank#}  . And there's usually a big pudding, too.

 After that, a lot of adults spend the afternoon having a nap ( =sleeping) in front of the TV!

 Shopping centers are popular  p{#blank#}8{#/blank#}  to go on Sunday afternoons. All the big shops are open usually 11 a. m.  t0 5 p. m. ,b{#blank#}9{#/blank#} most smaller shops are closed all day.

  Then it's Sunday evening, and your parents say: Come on, it's school a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} tomorrow. So it's time to do your homework if you haven't done it yet, then pack yourschool bag and have an early night.

He likes music and he also likes{#blank#}5{#/blank#} . The Drummer and The Sun Also Rises are his two new movies. I like them very much and want{#blank#}6{#/blank#} them once again.

    Nine-year-old Jimmy was given a task in school to write a story on "My family's ancestors(祖先)". The purpose was for the kids to {#blank#}1{#/blank#} their family history.

    In search of some {#blank#}2{#/blank#} for his task. Jimmy interviewed his grandmother who of course {#blank#}3{#/blank#} nothing about the reason why Jimmy asked such questions.

    When she was asked, "Granny, where did I come from?" his grandma was quite{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Why didn't he ask his parents? She had to be quite careful when talking {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a kid about such a subject. She wanted to buy some time, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she replied," Well, sweetie , the stork(鹳鸟) brought you." She said no{#blank#}7{#/blank#}, hoping that the subject would be dropped until Jimmy's parents came back.

    "So , where did Mom come from?"

    "The stork brought her also."

    "Well, then where did you come from?"

    " The stork brought {#blank#}8{#/blank#}too, sweetie"

    "All right, thanks, Granny"

    {#blank#}9{#/blank#} grandmother did not think anything more about his questions. Three days later, when she was tidying up and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} at Jimmy's desk, she read the first sentence of his paper," For three generations(辈)there have been no natural births in our family".

    The doorbell rang and Mrs. Carson opened the front floor. Her heart sank w {#blank#}1{#/blank#} she saw Mrs. Burbridge. W {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Mrs. Burbridge called; she stayed for hours and hours. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Carson," Mrs. Burbridge said. "Do come in," Just a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Mrs. Carson had feared, Mrs. Burbridge stayed for several hours. It was nearly six o'clock a {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Mr. Carson would be home from work soon……

    Mrs. Carson kept wondering h {#blank#}5{#/blank#} she would ask Mrs. Burbridge to leave without making her angry. "Has your husband got home from work y {#blank#}6{#/blank#}," Mrs. Carson asked. "Oh, yes," Mrs. Burbridge answered. "He always gets home at about five o'clock……" "It's nearly six o'clock. Won't he be getting worried about you?" Mrs. Carson said.

    "I thought of t {#blank#}7{#/blank#}," Mrs. Burbridge said. " b{#blank#}8{#/blank#} it's so pleasant here. We've had such a lovely afternoon. You know w {#blank#}9{#/blank#} I'll do?" I'll ring up my husband a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} tell him to come round, too. May I use your phone, please?"

    Jim Green is a student in No.25 Middle School. He does a part-time {#blank#}1{#/blank#} because he needs some {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. He works in a supermarket after {#blank#}3{#/blank#} from Monday to Friday and all {#blank#}4{#/blank#} on Saturday. He helps people look after their kids and he works {#blank#}5{#/blank#} different kids. He thinks it is great {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. After school, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a bus to the supermarket. He {#blank#}8{#/blank#} there at about 4:30. He works {#blank#}9{#/blank#} 4:30 to 8: 30. He gets home {#blank#}10{#/blank#} 9: 00. Jim likes his job very much.

    She was a student at a secondary school. The school was across the street from my house. Every day， I w{#blank#}1{#/blank#} her play basketball after school from my house. She played very well，b{#blank#}2{#/blank#} than any one of her classmate. And she never stopped. She practised over and over again， sometimes u{#blank#}3{#/blank#} dark.

One day， I asked her， "Why do you practise so hard? You are playing very well."

"That's b{#blank#}4{#/blank#}．I want to play in the city basketball team，" She looked d{#blank#}5{#/blank#} into my eyes and said. "But I'm still not good enough. I must work hard." I was moved by her great c{#blank#}6{#/blank#}.

     Another day， I saw her crying on the grass，i{#blank#}7{#/blank#} of playing basketball. I walked across the street and sat down by her side.

"Why are you crying， girl?" I asked.

"The c{#blank#}8{#/blank#} of the city basketball team told me I couldn't go on playing basketball because I was too short."

     But some days later I saw her playing basketball again， practising e{#blank#}9{#/blank#} harder than before. I was curious and asked her the reason.

"My father told me if my d{#blank#}10{#/blank#}is big enough， nothing can stop me."

    I was moved again.
