    The doorbell rang and Mrs. Carson opened the front floor. Her heart sank w she saw Mrs. Burbridge. W Mrs. Burbridge called; she stayed for hours and hours.     Mrs. Carson kept wondering h she would ask Mrs. Burbridge to leave without making her angry. "Has your husband got home from work y ," Mrs. Carson asked. "Oh, yes," Mrs. Burbridge answered. "He always gets home at about five o'clock……" "It's nearly six o'clock. Won't he be getting worried about you?" Mrs. Carson said.

    "I thought of t ," Mrs. Burbridge said. " b it's so pleasant here. We've had such a lovely afternoon. You know w I'll do?" I'll ring up my husband a tell him to come round, too. May I use your phone, please?"

   It was Monday. Mrs. Smith's dog was hungry, but there was not any meat in the house. So Mrs. Smith took a piece of paper, and wrote the following words on it: “Give my dog half a pound of meat.” Then she gave the paper to her dog, “T{#blank#}1{#/blank#} this to the butcher(屠夫) and he's going to give you your lunch today.”
