What you need:

2 eggs  3 bananas  2 cups of flour(面粉)

2 spoons of baking powder(发酵粉)

1/4 spoon of baking soda (小苏打)

1/2 spoon of salt

2/3 cup of sugar

1/3 cup of vegetable oil(油)

What to do:

l  Mix(混合) together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.

l  Add the vegetable oil. Then add a little sugar, and stir (搅拌) it.

l  Pour the eggs into the bowl and stir them well.

l  Add the bananas and stir them.

l  Turn the oven to 180℃.

l  Pour them into the oven（烤箱）. Bake（烘焙） the cake for 20 minutes.

l  Get the cake out of the oven, and cut it into pieces to eat.

Imagine （想象） walking into a movie theater without being greeted by the smell of popcorn. It's hard to believe, isn't it? For many people, popcorn goes hand in hand with movies. They can't have one without the other. But 1  did this happen?

Why do the leaves on trees have different colors? What makes them change color?

Leaves use sunlight, water, and air to make food for the trees. This way of making food is called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is important to animals as well as plants. Some animals eat plants. Other animals eat these animals. 

Summer is playtime. For the leaves of many trees, however, it's work, work, work! The Sun is shining. The leaves are making food for the trees. The trees keep more than enough food deep inside. Leaves are green in summer because they are making food. Leaves also have orange, yellow, or brown colors inside them. During summer, those colors are covered by the green color. 

Many places get colder in autumn with shorter days and longer nights. Trees get less sunlight, so photosynthesis slows down. Over time， leaves stop making the green chemical（化学物质）. The orange，yellow, and brown colors grow when that happens. 

Once it gets cold enough and ice appears at night, the trees drop their leaves. They do this to keep themselves safe. If the leaves turn to ice while still on the trees, the trees can be hurt. Trees that drop their leaves are bare（光秃秃） in winter. They use the food they save in summer to get through the cold days and nights. 

Spring comes before long. Ice and snow disappear and the rains come. The Sun shines, and tiny leaves grow from branches. Once again, the leaves use sunlight, water, and air to make food. The cycle begins again. 

On the night of Aug 11, the Paris Olympics Games closed with an amazing ceremony(闭幕式). As the first game started on July 24, around 10, 500 athletes from more than 200 countries and places competed at the biggest sports event in the world.

Better Olympics, better society

Looking towards a better future, the rooms in the Olympic village will be turned into 2, 800 housing for more people. Paris held the opening ceremony along the Seine River, the famous river. Paris brought athletes, performers and the audience closer together, lighting the city of fashion with an amazing big party.
