There is no quick hack to becoming a critical thinker but there are some habits that one can build to after their character in the right direction.

● Read a lot and read widely

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Well read people understand that there are different ways to look at a problem and different lenses with which to view the world.

● Don't jump to conclusions

A good critical thinker has built up the habit of not jumping to conclusions especially when there is no data.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}

● Create systems,not goals

For example,creating a system habit that promotes writing every day is more effective than setting the goal of writing an essay a week. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.A goal only focuses on the outputs.

Great thinkers routinely and intelligently try to counter their own arguments.They go back and forth until only the most rational and strongest argument exists based on the knowledge they have.

● Write

Writing is thinking. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.Writing also helps us separate what we actually know from what we think we know.

Almost all cultures celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another in some way. Different cultures celebrate the beginning of a new year in different ways, and at different times on the calendar. 

In Western countries, people usually celebrate New Year at midnight on December 31st—January 1st. People may go to parties, sometimes dressed in formal clothes, and they may drink champagne (香槟酒) at midnight. During the first minutes of the new year, people cheer and wish each other happiness for the year ahead. But some cultures prefer to celebrate the new year by waking up early to watch the sunrise. They welcome the new year with the first light of the sunrise. 

Many cultures also do special things to get rid of bad luck at the beginning of a new year. For example, in Ecuador, families make a big doll from old clothes. The doll is filled with old newspapers and firecrackers. At midnight, these dolls are burned to show the bad things from the past year are gone and the new year can start afresh (重新). Other common traditions to keep away bad luck in a new year include throwing things into rivers or the ocean, or saying special things on the first day of the new year. 

Other New Year traditions are followed to bring good luck in the new year. One widespread Spanish tradition for good luck is to eat grapes on New Year's Day. The more grapes a person eats, the more good luck the person will have in the year. In France, people eat pancakes for good luck in the New Year. In the United States, some people eat black-eyed peas for good luck—but to get good luck for a whole year you have to eat 365 of them!

We are all busy talking about and using the Internet, but do we know the history of the Internet?

 Many people are surprised when they find that the Internet appeared in the 1960s. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} And the net among computers didn't work well. If one computer in the net broke down, then the whole net stopped. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Inshould be good enough to be used by many different computers.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} But, in the early 1970s, universities, hospitals and banks were allowed to use it, too. However, computers were still very expensive and the Internet was difficult to use. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Scientists had also developed software that made" surfing" the Internet more convenient.

Today it is easy to get online and millions of people use the Internet to chat with each other every day. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} The Internet has now become one of the most important parts of people's life.

I would like to introduce my life to you. I live in a beautiful town. It has many {#blank#}1{#/blank#} places. Here are some of {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

There is a movie theater, a pool and two {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in my town. You can see some children in the parks. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fact, they love to run around there. The old people love to exercise there. Young people enjoy {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a movie, so they often go to the movie theater. If you like to swim, you can go to the pool with your parents {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. You will have a good time playing in the water.

You can find a library in my town. The library is very big and there are a lot of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in it. I like reading {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the library is my favorite place. I often {#blank#}9{#/blank#} there on weekends.

There are many restaurants in my town. I love to eat something spicy, so {#blank#}10{#/blank#} favorite one is the Indian restaurant. My family would like to have dinner in a Chinese restaurant.

A to-do list is like a note for you. Write down all the things you want to do or need to finish. It helps you plan your day and make sure you don't forget important things. What's on your list today? Maybe it will look like this.
