Many weight loss programs seem attractive to people. But for most people {#blank#}1{#/blank#}are overweight, the results are so {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(limit) that they will give up long before achieving any realistic results. It turns out that the programs are practically of no use. You lose weight for a while, only {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (gain) back more weight when you stop your weight loss program. This is {#blank#}4{#/blank#}such programs are not natural. Is there a natural weight loss solution?

    A sure way of achieving natural weight loss is to increase {#blank#}5{#/blank#}amount of exercise you get every day.  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} , this doesn't necessarily mean spending hours at the gym {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in front of a weight loss video. Increase your weight levels {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(nature) by walking or biking short distances instead of driving, or by taking the stairs instead of the elevator. There are even exercise that you can do while {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(sit) at your desk. All of these activities can burn extra calories {#blank#}10{#/blank#}taking up too much time.

    Chengdu has dozens of new millionaires, Asia's biggest building, and new fancy hotels. But for tourists like me, pandas are its top {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (attract)．

    So it was a great honor to be invited backstage at the not for profit Panda Base, where ticket money helps pay for research. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (allow) to get close to these cute animals at the 600­acre center. From tomorrow, I will be their UK ambassador. The title will be {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (official) given to me at a ceremony in London. But my connection with pandas goes back {#blank#}4{#/blank#} my days on a TV show in the mid­1980s, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} I was the first Western TV reporter {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (permit) to film a special unit caring for pandas rescued from starvation in the wild. My ambassadorial duties will include {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (introduce) British visitors to the 120­plus pandas at Chengdu and others at a research in the misty mountains of Bifengxia.

    On my recent visit, I held a lively three­month­old twin that had been rejected by {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (it) mother. The nursery team switches him every few{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (day) with his sister so that while one is being bottle ­ fed, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} other is with mom—she never suspects.

    In 1608, Thomas Coryate, an Englishman, visited Italy. He liked the country and noted down every interesting thing {#blank#}1{#/blank#} he had found. But there was one thing he found {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (interesting) than the others. In his diary, Thomas wrote, “When the Italians eat meat, they use small forks instead of their hands. As they say, people don't always have clean hands”

    Before {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (leave) for England, Thomas bought a few forks. At home he gave a dinner party to show the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (invent) to his friends. When the servants brought the steak, he took out a fork and began to eat {#blank#}5{#/blank#} people did in Italy.

    Everybody looked at him in surprise. When he told his friends what it was, they all wanted {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (take) a good look at the strange thing. They said that the Italians were very strange people, for the fork was not very convenient.

    Thomas tried to prove the opposite. He said it was not nice to eat meat {#blank#}7{#/blank#} one's fingers because they were not always clean. He wanted to show how easy {#blank#}8{#/blank#} was to use the fork. But the first piece of meat he took with the fork {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (fall) to the floor. His friends began to laugh and he had to take the fork away.

    Only fifty years later {#blank#}10{#/blank#} people in England begin to use forks.

    In the 17th century, dentists did their best {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (make) false teeth. The problem, however, was not making the teeth, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} was keeping them in place. They had to tie each tooth to the one on either side of it. Only rich people could afford false teeth, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} were usually made of gold or silver. As more and more people wanted new teeth, poor people {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (sell) their teeth to the rich so that they could buy food and clothing. During the next 200 years, many changes were made to false teeth although some of these were not really improvements. Towards the end of the 19th century, for example, cheap elastic teeth were introduced. But they caught fire very {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (easy), and a number of men were badly burned when their teeth caught fire while they were smoking {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (cigarette). Nowadays, false teeth {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (be) so well made and look so real that it is often {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (possible) to tell from a person's appearance whether or not they have them. And in {#blank#}9{#/blank#} near future, very few people will have them by {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (add) certain things to the water we drink, we have been able to keep our teeth so healthy that most people will never need false teeth.

Do Yao Ming, Liu Xiang and Justine Henin have anything {#blank#}1{#/blank#} common with people like us? You probably answer "NO!"

It seems that top athletes live in a world that is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (total) different from ours. However, if we could see into their minds, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} would be clear that they are actually just like us. Just how they become successful {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (mean) examples for us all. To achieve their goals, sportspeople not only have to prepare physically, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} mentally.

We may not be sports stars {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (we), but we have to face the same problems. We set goals for ourselves and think about personal {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (develop). We have to manage our fears before big exams. We worry about our friendships with both classmates and teachers.

Like sportspeople, we try {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) mentally strong and bring out our {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (good). There is much we share with sports {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (hero).
