But never before have I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (admire) a person so much as Helen Keller, who I just read about. She was a(n) {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  (luck) girl who could neither hear {#blank#}7{#/blank#} see. I just can't imagine how she could be so successful. {#blank#}8{#/blank#} I really don't believe is that a deaf-blind lady could become a world-famous writer. She must have met great difficulties and she must have made great efforts! If I were {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (she), I wouldn't have the courage to live on. It is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} her courage, imagination and intelligence that I was struck.

    An American skydiver has survived a 7, 600-meter jump from an airplane, although he did not use a parachute(降落伞). Luke Aikins dropped into a huge safety net on Saturday after falling for about two minutes over the desert in California. Aikins reached a speed of 193 kilometers per hour during the jump. He fell safe into a net. Cranes(起重机) {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (hold) the net about 65 meters over the desert floor. The 42-year-old husband and father has jumped out of planes thousands of times, but never once  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}he left a plane without a parachute. Aikins said he was nervous before this jump. “We're talking about jumping without a parachute,” he told reporters. "I take that very  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(serious). It's not a joke.” Aikins prepared for two years  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(make) the jump. Three skydivers with parachutes made the jump with him. They recorded the event with a video and carried the  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (equip) that Aikins needed, like an oxygen mask. Aikins rolled in the air just moments before he hit the net so as to land on his back. The sky-diver did not move for several seconds as the net was lowered to the ground. Then, Aikins stood, waved his arms and hugged his wife.

    Jane Foster was out shopping when some wedding photos in the window of an antique shop{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (catch) her eyes. It took her quite a while {#blank#}2{#/blank#} she realized that she was looking at her mom's long-lost old wedding photos.

He remembered that he had also bought a wedding dress from 1948, and {#blank#}8{#/blank#} turned out that this was Jane's mother's dress!

    Unfortunately, the woman passed away in 2013 and was therefore {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(able) to be reunited with her prized possessions. But her daughter is thrilled with the treasured finding, considering it {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a sign that her mom is still around and watching over her!

    Roofs and windows of buildings aren't the only surfaces that can be used to produce solar power. In China,{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（construct）has begun of the country's first solar highway, in which solar panels are placed underneath transparent concrete.

    The solar highway is a 2 km stretch（一段）of road{#blank#}2{#/blank#}（lie）on the Jinan City Expressway, and it's divided into three layers. The see-through concrete protects a set of solar panels of two{#blank#}3{#/blank#}（size）. Beneath the solar panels{#blank#}4{#/blank#}（be）a layer that separates them from the damp ground.

    The road{#blank#}5{#/blank#}（it）has already been completed, and now it's only a matter of connecting the grid（输电网）,{#blank#}6{#/blank#}is expected to be finished by the end of the year alongside the completion of the Jinan Expressway's south section.

    This isn't the first solar road China has worked on. Earlier this year, the Qilu Transportation Development Group, also handling the Jinan Expressway solar road,{#blank#}7{#/blank#}（build）a 160-meter- long solar road in{#blank#}8{#/blank#}city of Jinan. It has the ability of heating up to keep the highway clear{#blank#}9{#/blank#}snow and ice* and is able to{#blank#}10{#/blank#}（wireless） charge electric vehicles. The new solar highway is expected to one day be equipped with the same features.
