A father was worried about his son{#blank#}1{#/blank#}was sixteen years old but had no courage (勇气) at all. So the father decided to look for a Buddhist monk(僧侣){#blank#}2{#/blank#} (train) his boy.

    The Buddhist monk said to the boy's father, “I insist that your son should be left alone here. I'll make him into a real man within three {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (month). However, you can't come to see him during this period.”

    Three months later, the boy's father {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (return). The Buddhist monk organized a boxing match (拳击赛) between the boy and an {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (experience) boxer. Each time the fighter hit the boy, he fell down, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}at once the boy stood up; and each time a heavy blow knocked him down, the boy stood up again. Several times later, the Buddhist monk asked, “{#blank#}7{#/blank#} do you think of your child?”

    “What a shame!” the boy's father said, “I never thought he would be so {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (easy) knocked down. I needn't have him stay here any {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (long)!

    “I'm sorry that that's all you see. Don't you see that each time he falls down, he stands up again instead of {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (cry)? That's the kind of courage you wanted him to have.

    I am taught by many teachers in my school. Every subject has a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(differ) teacher, but I like my math teacher {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (well). Her name is Lakshmi but we usually call her Ma'am. She is our class teacher too.

    Ma'am {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (join) us last term. She is very kind and her way of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (teach) is so interesting and simple that we all can understand what is being taught and how it could be done. Most {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (important), Ma'am teaches math with lots of patience. {#blank#}6{#/blank#}we do not understand a problem, she will spend extra time {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (guide) us until we understand it. And we can go to her at any time during school hours for help.

    She also helps us with activities at school. When there are{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(program), she will be there to help us to get ready for the show. Even when we go on picnics, she takes good care of {#blank#}9{#/blank#}.

    To me, Ma'am is not only {#blank#}10{#/blank#} good teacher, but also our best friend. I love Ma'am and I wish her a happy life.

    China is famous for its bewildering and oftentimes confusing highway interchanges (立体交叉道), but the Qianchun interchange in {#blank#}1{#/blank#} mountainous province of Guizhou is the only one {#blank#}2{#/blank#} actually looks like a giant rollercoaster for cars and trucks.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (Construct)on the Qianchun Interchange began in 2009, but the massive road knot was only completed last year. It {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  (consist)of 18 different ramps, in 8 directions, on five different layers, with the highest one {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (stand)37 meters above ground. Like the nearby Huangjuewan Overpass, in Chongqing, this incredibly complex infrastructure project has been labelled a nightmare for {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (motorist) trying to find their way around.

    People on social media pointed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} that GPS systems would be confused by the five different layers of road, but officials claims that the directions and exits on the interchange are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (clear)marked and that even if you make mistakes, it's always easy to turn around. Still, just looking at this thing leaves me {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (confuse).I can't imagine {#blank#}10{#/blank#} having to find my way around it must be like.

    No trip would be complete without experiencing the local food culture. Actually, China has various kinds of delicious food, including a wide variety of local snacks.

    For most of the foreigners I contacted, and myself {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (include), Peking Duck, Mongolian Hot Pot are the favourite Chinese dishes. China is a place {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the food is not only delicious, but the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) I've ever found.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} my last night in Beijing before {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (return) to the States, I went to a Peking Duck restaurant that had been suggested for me to try. What a beautiful place! Splendid woodblock prints on the walls, fresh flowers in the vases,  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(attract) silverware (银餐具) and beautiful chopsticks. I was handed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} menu and found most of the prices were especially low for the high quality of the food. The lucky came in whole or half, along with all the little decorations - a little tortilla (玉米粉圆饼) to put the sliced cluck and vegetables in, chopped onion and sauce.

    Anyway, I ordered a whole duck, thinking I'd just take the rest back to my hotel {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(eat) later if I couldn't finish it.{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(believable), in the end there was none of the whole duck {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(leave) on the plate.
