Many companies today hold meetings to discuss their new plans. As people are paying more attention to the environment problems, more companies are looking for ways to reduce their bad influence on the environment. Many of them achieve this by using web meeting.

 Web meeting is a technology that allows people to communicate better over the Internet. It's an easy way of hosting and attending a meeting. Participants(与会者) don't have to leave the office. Each of them will receive an invitation with the meeting time and date on it.  When the meeting is ready to begin, they must sit before their computers.

     With web meeting, all participants can attend the meeting at their own desks. They don't need to drive a car to travel to and from the meeting. As a result, no fuel(燃料) is used and less time is taken up in attending a web meeting.

     Materials for the meeting are simply e-mailed to all the participants before it begins. Then participants can just read them on the screen. For the company, this not only saves the use of paper but also greatly reduces the mailing cost.

     As a meeting hall is not used, the only power for a web meeting is the power that is used by the computers. Besides, organizers don't have to pay for food or accommodation(住宿)for the participants. All this means that less energy is used.

     In a word, web meeting is a cheaper, greener, and more friendly way of hosting and attending a meeting. Companies that hold web meetings are willing to work hard for a better environment. So they can more easily find their working partners who have the same green ideas. In return, they develop good relationship with other companies and improve their business.

    Breakfast cereals(谷类早餐食物) are popular in many countries. In the USA, they are served in nine out of ten homes. They are made from grains(谷物)such as corn, wheat and rice. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    In the beginning, cereals were healthy food. In the late 1800s, some doctors in the USA made them in hospitals and gave them to their patients. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} However, this soon changed, and from the 19305, some companies began to add sugar to their cereals and sell them as children's food.     First, the grain is taken to the factory, where it is cleaned and checked.

    Then it is prepared for cooking. It is made into flour(粉) and mixed with other ingredients(原料){#blank#}4{#/blank#}

    When it is soft, it is put into special machines which make it into shapes like stars, circles or even letters.

    The shapes are baked（烘烤） in an oven to dry them. Then they are "puffed "in another machine to make them light and full of air.

    Andy was still traveling in Spain when he realized he had to confirm (确认) his     home with the airline company. He was visiting Spain in order to improve his Spanish. And the clerk confirmed that his plane was leaving at nine o'clock three days from that day. She also told Andy to be at the airport a little earlier in order to check in his luggage and get a seat.

    Too quickly, the final day arrived. Andy left early for the airport before take-off. He hated to rush. When he went to the clerk to show his ticket, the clerk looked at the ticket in surprise, "Why, sir, but your flight was at nine o'clock in the morning, and now it is eight in the evening." "But I confirmed my flight," insisted Andy. "Will I have to pay for another ticket?"

    "No, Sir. However, the next flight out will be three days from now."

    Andy's      of shock turned to smile as he realized that now he could go on with his vacation.
