重庆市九龙坡区十校联考2019-2020学年八年级上学期英语期中考试试卷
Hello, boys and girls. My name is Li Jing. I am thirteen years old. I think as students, we should work hard at school on weekdays. So I always study hard when I am at school, but on my day off(放假) I often do something else to relax myself.
I had a very relaxing day off. In the morning, I got up at seven o'clock. Then I went to run with my father. I think we need to exercise every day. After running, I took a shower and had breakfast. At nine o'clock, I went to the zoo with my friends. We saw some pandas and lions there. Pandas are cute and lions are scary. In the shop, we bought many gifts. We had great fun there.
In the afternoon, my parents took me to see my grandparents. They live in the beautiful countryside. They were very happy to see me. I talked with my grandfather for long and he told me many interesting things about him. My grandmother cooked lots of delicious food for us.
In the evening, I watched TV with my cousins. We watched an exciting basketball match. We were glad when we saw our favorite team in the match.
What a happy day off I had! I hope all of you can have an interesting day off!
Young people are often unhappy when they are with their parents. They say that their parents don't understand them. They often think their parents are too strict with them and they are never given a free hand. (让…自由行动)
Parents often find it difficult to win their children's trust and they seem to forget how they themselves felt when they were young. For example, young people like to do things without thinking much. It's one of their ways to show that they have grown up and they can deal with difficult things.
Young people often make their parents angry by clothes they want, the music they enjoy, the hairstyle they have and something else. But they don't like to cause any trouble. They just feel that in this way they can be cut off (阻断) from the old people's world and they want to make a new culture of their own.
If you plan to control your life, you'd better win your parents over (把…争取过来) and try to get them to understand you.

Friends are very important in people's live.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} I think it's very easy to make friends with other people and build a friendship between each other. However,{#blank#}2{#/blank#} So what is true friendship? In my opinion, true friendship includes:
First of all, true friendship must treat their friends loyally and help each other. In other words, you must not take advantage of your friends,{#blank#}3{#/blank#} For example, some unfriendly people make friends in order to cheat money and feelings, or get a certain secret and so I don't think these are true friendships.
Second, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}For example, if a friend is really in need of money to escape from some troubles, true friends might lend it and help him or her.
Third,{#blank#}5{#/blank#}One of the greatest men once said:" If you tell your happiness to your friend, you will get double happiness. If you tell your sadness to your friend, you will get half.
A. friends must share their happiness and sadness. B. it is not easy to get true friendship, I think. C. and you mustn't cheat them. D. true friends must try their best to help each other E. No one can live alone in the world without friends. F. A friend in need is a friend in need. G. but you can borrow a lot of things from them. |
The Inside of the World
When I was a very little boy, I was always asking questions.
One day when I was walking with my nurse along the city street, I asked, "Jane, what's under the street?" "Oh, just dirt (尘土) ," she replied. "And what is under the dirt?" "Oh, more dirt," she replied.
{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. So I asked again, "Well, what's under that?" "Oh, nothing-I don't know-why are you always asking so many questions?" she asked
I knew there must be something under that. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. I also heard that Chinese lived on the other side of the world, head down. I wanted to find out if that was true.
{#blank#}3{#/blank#}, down, down, down, till I came through on the other side, and then I would know. I was a very little boy, you see. With a small shovel (铁锹) , I started a hole in the back yard behind the grapevines (葡萄藤). No one knew what I was doing. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}.
Then one evening my father asked, "What's that hole in the back yard?" {#blank#}5{#/blank#}.
He didn't laugh when I told him, but he asked me if I knew how far I would have to dig.
I hadn't dug through the world, but I did know how far it was.
A. I knew my secret was out B. I wasn't satisfied with her answer C. And I just wanted to know what it was D. So I made up my mind I would dig down through the world E. I wanted to keep it a secret until I had dug all the way through F. As a result, I became closer and closer to the inside of the world |
