In China, when spring comes, students have difficulty sitting quietly. They want to be outside. Teachers know this. In spring, schools usually organize a spring outing for kids. It might be a trip to a mountain. But typically, teachers take kids to a martyrs' park (烈士陵园).They can show their respect(敬意)for those who lost their lives in war. And also they can enjoy spring.

UK children have many great choices when it comes to school trips. They can visit the seaside, or a theme park. They can look around a castle or a stately home (庄园). One special place to go is a wetland and bird center. The kids spend time in a beautiful place and also learn about the natural world. The people at the center are scientists. This means they're able to teach kids about the knowledge of nature. They also find out how some animals today are in danger.

Once there was a king(国王) of England who had a large army（军队）. He couldn't get as many soldiers（士兵） as he wanted in England, so many of them came from abroad（国外）.And some of them were unable(不能的)to speak English. Whenever the king came to inspect（视察）his army and talked to the soldiers, he always asked the same three questions, “How old are you? How long have you been in my army? Are your parents still alive（活着）?” The officers always made sure that all the soldiers knew the right answers to these questions.
One day the king was inspecting some of his soldiers. He walked down the lines, stopping here and there to speak to one of the men. He stopped in front of the foreign soldiers. This man couldn't speak English, but he knew by heart(记在心中) the answers to the king's three questions.

Ben was hoping for a video game for his birthday. There was also a board game he wanted. Finally, he wanted some comics.

He got the board game and some comics, but what was in the last package? It was from his sister, Karen. He slowly unwrapped the package. It didn't feel like a video game.

It was a purple sweater. Purple was his least favourite colour. He smiled and thanked Karen nicely, but he didn't want 'to wear that sweater. He couldn't wear purple!

He quickly put the sweater away in his room. Then he ran off to play his new board game with his family.

One day a few weeks later, Ben's mother asked him about the sweater. "Why don't you wear your purple sweater today?" she asked him. "Your sister made it just for you!"

"I'm not cold," Ben said without thinking. That day he was cold all day.

Then one day they were going out to dinner as a family. His mother asked him to wear the sweater again. "I don't want to wear it because I hate it," he quickly replied.

"Ben," said his mother," I know it's not the nicest sweater in the world, but think about how important Karen is to you. You know she will be proud if you wear it just this once."

Ben walked slowly to his room. He knew she was right. He wore the sweater to dinner.

His sister smiled all night.
