Do you want to feel happy and know how great you are? Here are five ways to make you feel good about yourself.

    Encourage yourself. Look in the mirror and say to yourself, “I am a special person and there's no one in the world like me. I can do anything.” It may not sound so good, but it really works!

    Help others. Do something nice for someone who always makes you feel good.

    Smile! Be friendly to people you meet. No one can refuse(拒绝) a big smile. Look for the good things in your friends and family.

     Learn something new! New things may be great challenges(挑战), but when you fall in love with them or get some progress, you'll be very happy.

    Stay with your family. We all need our family time. Talk with your mom and dad or maybe even your cousin. This can make you feel warm and give you confidence to get on well with others.

    Summer is a great time to get a new hobby. It's something that can start now and last all through the year. If you like music, think about some music lessons such as guitar or drum. You may think about joining in the music team for teens. You can also make some new friends there. Do you collect your favorite things? Now it's the time. There are many fun things to collect like postcards, especially sports cards. If you enjoy taking photos, you can choose the photography classes. And don't forget to share your wonderful pictures with your family members and friends. How about cooking? Try to read some books about cooking. Maybe you can cook with your morn.     How would you persuade (劝说) your parents to support your dream? American actress Emma Stone created a PowerPoint presentation (陈述) to get her argument across.

    Stone is a rising star in Hollywood. She has played the role of Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man's high school love interest, in two Spider-Man movies.

The actress said she has something in common with her character in the film. "Gwen is clear on what she wants to do with her life... I think I am in the same ballpark (同一范围) there."

    Stone made up her mind to become an actress at the age of 15. But would her parents agree to her leaving school early and pursuing (追求) her dream? The young girl decided to think outside of the box.

    "I used a lot of computers when I was younger, and my dad's a businessman, so I just thought a presentation is the way to get my point across," she said.

She titled the presentation Project Hollywood and used pop singer Madonna's classic song Hollywood as the soundtrack, saying "just please let me move to LA to be an actress."

    Her tactic (策略) proved to be a success. In 2004, Stone dropped out of high school and moved with her mother to Los Angeles. She was homeschooled after that.

Now Stone is a successful actress with many films to her name. Her next step is to try different things like "bizarre (奇怪的)" characters or comedy. Will she persuade directors with PowerPoint presentations too?

    A king in Africa had a close friend that helped him grow up. The friend had a habit of looking at everything that happened in his life positively(肯定地)and saying, " This is good. "

    One day the king and his friend went out hunting. The friend would prepare the guns for the king. The friend did something wrong in preparing one of the guns, and after taking the gun from his friend, the king fired it and his thumb was blown off.     When he returned home, he felt sorry for his treatment of his friend. He went quickly to the jail to speak with his friend. "You were right," he said. "It was good that my thumb was blown off. "And he told the friend all that had just happened." And so I am very sorry for sending you to jail for so long. It was bad of me to do this."

    "No," his friend replied, "this is good! " "What do you mean? How could it be good that I sent my friend to jail for a year?"

    "If I had not been in jail, I would have been with you, and I would have been eaten!"

    Tea does not mean the same thing to everyone. In different countries people have different ideas about tea-drinking.

    Chinese people drink tea at any time of the day at homes or in teahouses. They prefer their tea with nothing else in it. The Japanese way of having tea is very old and full of meaning. There is even a special room for tea-drinking in Japanese homes. In England, almost everyone has a cup of tea in the late afternoon. The English usually make tea in a teapot and drink it with cream and sugar. They also eat cakes and cookies with tea. Americans usually use tea bags to make their tea. It's faster and easier. They drink tea mostly for breakfast or after meals. In summer they drink cold tea or iced tea.
