I used to be a shy girl. But this term, I decided to do a thing bravely.
When our teacher asked who would like to be the physics monitor(物理课代表),I1 my hand and got the role. But it was not as easy as I thought.
At the beginning,2 I checked the homework list, I found that many students didn't hand in their homework. I was a little3 . 1 felt the job for me at that time was to push those students. And I spoke so loudly to ask for their homework and my face also 4 red. It made the students angry, too. One girl asked, Why are you 5 me? You're making it seem that it is my entire fault. " Then I suddenly realized it was actually 6 fault. I should talk to my classmates in a kind way and not get so angry.
After this, I changed the7 I spoke. "Excuse me. Could you please finish your homework? " I said. To my surprise, many students understood me much better and finished their homework 8
I found the best way to communicate, so problems could be solved. Now, I am getting along well with all my9 . 1 also realized that a good monitor should be responsible and10 . I really cherish (珍惜)this experience. It makes me feel like I am growing up like a little tree day by day.
Dear Ms Rice,
My brother Dave is 11 and I am 4 years older. He and I always get into fights. Whenever he does something wrong like hitting me or making my room dirty, he never gets into trouble. He doesn't even have to say sorry to me. But when I do these, my parents always ask me to say sorry. It's so unfair!
I tried talking to my parents about this and all they said was that they would change. However, they never did anything. Sometimes I talk with my friends on the computer, but my parents only allow me to use the computer for 30 minutes every time. Dave can use it for three hours.
I talked to my friends about this. They advised me to talk to Dave and be nice to him. I tried but it didn't work. Dave made my life terrible! My dream is that my brother and my parents could understand me. What should I do for that?

What are the most popular pets in the world? Cats and dogs!
In the USA, there are more than 100 million dogs and cats. About 60 percent of American families celebrate their pets' birthdays.
Cats and dogs are also good topics for small talks— "What a lovely dog! What's his name?" People easily become friends because of pets.
People think dogs are loyal(忠诚的) animals. They help do lots of jobs like hunting and guarding. They even went into space earlier than people. In 1957, Russia put a dog called Laika into space. Cats catch mice. They are not as loyal as dogs, but they can make people happy.
Today cats and dogs are both people's good friends. They are in the most popular cartoons. The most famous ones are Garfield and Snoopy. Garfield is a lazy fat cat. He like seating and sleeping all the time. He is smart, too. He can write some letters and tell time sometimes although he often repeats that he can't. He is often mad at his master who can understand him well. Snoopy is a thoughtful small dog. He is quiet and he has many good friends. He likes to write stories and make his friends feel better.
Online classes in space got lots of attention among Chinese students. The "classroom" in space station is about 400 kilometres away from the earth. The space classes make the young proud of our country. As a special "teacher", Wang Yaping is regarded as (看作)"the most beautiful astronaut(宇航员).
Wang Yaping was born in a small village in Shandong in 1980. She studied hard all those years. She was good at all subjects, especially sports. Luckily, in 1997, she was accepted by Changchun Flight Academy.
Wang's space dream started in 2003, when China sent its first astronaut Yang Liwei into space. She told herself, "China now has a male astronaut. When will there be a female one?" At that time, Wang was a pilot in the Chinese army. After having safe flights (飞行)for 1, 600 hours during nine years in the training centre, Wang was a strong candidate (候选人)to become an astronaut in 2010. In 2013, Wang realized her space dream. She was sent to space by Shenzhou— 10. She joined the team of Shenzhou— 13 in 2021 and flew into the space for the second time.
However, it is difficult to be an astronaut. She has to experience a lot of pain that most people can't stand and keep training all the time. Wang Yaping told Xinhua, "The space environment won't change because you are a woman. " She pushed herself hard, getting the same training as men, including the pull— ups and barbells(杠铃). That finally made her dream come true.
"You are on the way to success as long as you stick to your dreams, " Wang Yaping said. She set a good example to the young. Millions of students are encouraged and inspired(受鼓舞)by the most beautiful astronaut.
The "Great Green Wall of China" project is over forty years old. In this project, people plant trees in Northern China. Why are trees so important to us? Because it is healthy to live around trees. They can keep us healthy, just like doctors. So we call them "doctor trees".
Trees can clean the air. For people in large cities with air pollution, trees can be very important. Workers are planting trees not just in city parks. They are also planting trees along streets to help clean the air.
Some scientists think that trees not just help clean the air. They are also good for our health. A study shows that people in hospitals feel better when they can see trees from their rooms. And people with trees near their homes usually exercise more.
Scientists are also studying the healthy effects (作用) of trees on human minds. One effect of trees is that they make people feel happy and relaxed. When people go through the neighborhood with more trees, they will walk slower and talk more often with each other.
Of course, another good effect is that "doctor trees" work for free!
Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei. it is a beautiful, large and very important city in China. During last Spring Festival, the city received much tons of attention because a novel corona—virus (新型冠状病毒) appeared there and spread around the country. Several days before the Spring Festival,Wuhan was locked and the city became quiet and still.
A big fight against the novel corona— virus was going on there. The doctors and nurses there became brave warriors (勇士) in masks (口罩), glasses and protective suits. Many of them had to work over ten hours every day drinking little or no water. They risked their health and even lives to treat the patients. Thousands of doctors and nurses from other cities and provinces in China went to Wuhan to support them. There is no doubt that they were all heroes in the fight.
Besides doctors and nurses, everyone in our country was doing their own part in the fight against the novel corona—virus.
That Spring festival was not as fun as it usually is. It even brought us to tears many times. However, we will never forget those difficult days, not only for the awful virus, but also for the efforts we made together and the lessons we learned.
My family has a new neighbor—a blind woman. Though she can't see anything, I can feel that she likes my children. She is quiet woman.
