Look at the pictures of cute rabbits dressed in lion dance clothes. Are they toys? Well, these cute"rabbits"are actually huabobo. It has been a popular traditional food in Shandong Province for more than 300 years.
Usually, huabobo is bigger than bun(馒头). It's normally sweet in taste. It has become a necessary part of some important events, including birthdays, holidays, weddings and so on. After making dough(生面团), people shape the dough into ducks, dragons, peaches, etc, before having them steamed(蒸). Then they color them.
Huabobo is believed to carry peace, long life, wealth and best wishes. For example, rabbit huabobo is given to girls to wish them as lovely and clever as a white rabbit, while Huabobo in the shape of strong animals is usually given to a boy with a wish that he will be as strong as a tiger or others. And yuanyang huabobo shows the wish that a newly-married couple will live ha ppily together to an old age and the peaches for long life.
Huabobo tastes good, but most huabobo shops only sell it in their hometown. Zang Chaiyuan, a 25-year-old girl from Yantai noticed that. She wanted to introduce huabobo to more people. She has created new shapes very lively. She also uses natural fruit and vegetable juice to color huabobo, along with milk, eggs, and a bit of sugar. What's more, she has found a way to keep huabobo for over two months, making it easier to send it to other cities.
With her creative works, Zang has managed to bring new life into the traditional huabobo so that more young people can taste and understand this traditional food.

Having a blood y nose can make some people nervous, but in most cases, nosebleeds(流鼻血) are easy to stop and not so serious. Around three out of five people will have a bloodynose in their lifetime. Nosebleeds mostly happen among children from 2 to 10 years old and among adults aged 50 to 80.
◆What causes a bloody nose?
Most nosebleeds are caused by picking the nose and dry air. Blowing your nose too often when you have a cold can also lead to nosebleeds. All of these break the tiny vessels(血管) inside the nose, causing them to bleed. Causes of more serious nosebleeds include a head injury, a genetic disease, or, in some cases, a tumor.
◆How to stop a bloody nose right away?
You may know how to stop a blood y nose right away, but it's important to do it properly and safely.
Always sit up straight when your nose is bleeding, and never lie on your back. One of the biggest mistakes in first aid is that you should lean(倾斜) back with a bloody nose, but the best thing to do is leaning forward. The blood needs to go somewhere, and if the person leans back or lies down, it will most likely go down his throat, possibly causing choking(窒息). And try not to put something into your nose.
Pinching(捏住) the nose properly stops or slows the bleeding. Hold the nose for at least five minutes. Do not let go to check for bleeding until at least the first five minutes are up. If you can, keep pinching for longer.
After five minutes, see if the bleeding has stopped. If not, pinch again, but keep it up for 10 minutes this time. Remember: Don't let go to check for bleeding until the 10 minutes are up. If bleeding doesn't stop after that time, pinch it for another 10 minutes if necessary.
Remember that if you can't stop the nosebleed with these ways, see a doctor immediately.
◆What not to do after a bloody nose?
After a light nosebleed, do not lie down until 20 minutes later, but at least 30minutes or even an hour later after a bad nosebleed. Don't lift heavy things or pick your nose for a day. You should not blow your nose for at least two days.
A shoemaker sp ent his time in singing from morning till night. It was wonderful to see, wonderful to hear. He was very pleased.
However, his neighbor—a banker, who was very rich, sang little and slept less. When by chance he fell into a light sleep in the early morning, the shoema ker woke him up with his song. The banker complained(抱怨) sadly that God had not made sleep a saleable thing, like food or drink, that people can buy with money. At last he sent for the singer. He said to him,"How much money a year do you make, Master Gregory?"
"How much a year, sir?"said the happy shoemaker laughing,"I have never thought in that way, living as I dofrom one day to another; somehow I manage to reach the end of the year; each day brings its meal."
"Well then! How much money a day do you make, my friend?"
"Sometimes more, sometimes less. But the worst of it is that we can't work a few days in the year, or we willmake more."
The banker said with a laugh,"In the future I shall place you above what you want. Take these hundred gold coins, keep them carefully, and make use of them in time of need."
The shoemaker was surprised to have all so much money. Returning home, he buried(埋藏) his money and his happiness at the same time. No more singing, he lost his voice at the moment he got his money. Sleep left him and cares, worries, and fears took its place. All day, he kept his eye on his money from time to time; and at night, if some cat made a noise, he thought someone stealing his money. At last the poor man ran to the house of his rich neighbor. He said,"____."
He was happy again.

In 2010, Justin Horner was driving down a busy freeway in Portland, when his tire(轮胎) blew out. He pulled over to the side of the road and made a(an) 1 that said he needed help.
Three 2 later, a van finally pulled up. Out came a family of 3 . They worked together to 4 Horner's car. They found a log on the side of the road, and using it to lift the car. When they finished, themom pulled out a big bottle of 5 , and they drank and washed their hands.
"I just thanked them and thanked them and thanked them,"Horner recalled."And I tried to give her money. Ionly had a $20 bill, and I just thought, you know, it's the 6 I had with me. And she just 7 take it."
But Horner was adamant(坚定的), and finally he put the money in 8 hand, and walked away. Then he 9 their small daughter call out, to ask Horner if he was 10 . Indeed he was, and she came over with abag of sandwiches. They exchanged thank you, she got into the van, and the family started to 11 .
"12 they're trying to get into traffic, I opened the bag and my money is 13 the bag,"Horner said."
Horner immediately ran over to the 14 , which was starting to pull into traffic, to get the father's attention.
"He rolls down his window. He sees me coming and he's just 15 his head. And I keep saying like, 'Porfavor, por favor'—I'm holding a bill out,"Horner remembered.

I'm Cameron Davis. I'm 13 and I've visited 45 countries. I have been travelling for as long as I can remember.
Before we left on our first trip, I was very nervous. (在……期间) the trip, I noticed that if I didn't talk to others, I couldn't make any friends. On my travels I have tried a lot of new things, from (高山) biking in Whistle r to camel (骑行) near the Great Pyramid of Giza! When you travel to certain places, you start to learn about the different (文化). I learned to cook Pad Thai in Thailand, ate curries in India, and tried dumplings in China. I learned that food was great in different countries. My trips also (教) me how to become more independent. When we (计划) to travel, I always had to pack my own suitcase. Also, when we weretraveling I saw a lot of families that really had to depend on each other to live. Now we wash (餐具),make our own lunch and more. I don't love these chores but we have learned that this family is like four gears(齿轮); if one stops
(工作), it is harder for the other three.
The (最好的) thing that I've learned about traveling is that sometimes you will have to take risks. When I was in Vietnam,I was playing with a little boy when out of the blue, he bit me. I still have the mark!I learned that there are (都) good and bad risks. Take the good ones.
When it comes to traveling the world, it's easy to tell yourself you'll have time to do it later. There are plenty of reasons instead of (wait) for the"perfect"time. The fact is there will always be excuse not to travel. When you travel while you're young, you can throw yourself in head first and learn more about yourself and you want out of life—while you still have your whole life ahead of you.
Travel is (true) one of the best ways to learn about yourself and the world. No matter how old you are and what parts of the world you decide (go), there are always lessons to be learned. Why not travel young and get a head start?
Traveling is life-changing at any age, when young people travel, they discover more about who they want to be and how they want to show up in the world. What could be better than that?
The truth is, when you travel young, you (find) many other travelers are young, too. While you can still make friends as an older traveler, it's (easy) to connect with people your own age.
Not only does it make you look cool to your (friend) back home, but it also opens up endless opportunities for later in life, whether you want to study abroad, work in an international company, or travel more. You may even want to explore youth travel groups that guide you around the world while teaching you the local languages the same time.
Plus, life is short and unpredictable, and sometimes you really do just have to say"YOLO"and go for it.
