Have you ever returned a book late to the library before? If so, you may pay a small fine(罚款). How much would you have to pay if the book is returned 65 years late?

    A high school in Washington, US had to deal with such a problem recently. A copy of Gone with the Wind was finally returned to its library 65 years late.

    However, the school said that it would not ask Wayne to pay the fine, though that would be about $ 475.

    The book was borrowed out of the library of the high school in 1951, and disappeared until it was found in Maine, US by Wayne. Wayne found the book in his father s basement (地下室) and then offered to send it back to the school.

    "I feel very sorry about that," Wayne said.

    "We're very pleased to have the book back. Wayne did the right thing," Lori Wyborney, headmaster of the school said.

    "Can I take your order?" Night after night, I had to say this as I worked in my family's restaurant. My father was a fantastic cook. He wanted me, his only son, to cook with him, but I didn't like cooking. Because of the restaurant, my father was always busy. He never had time to play football with me.

    During my high school and college years, I worked with my family at night. But I always avoided the kitchen. I couldn't wait to graduate so that I could move away from the family business. Several days before my graduation day, my father and I started looking at new cars. Finally, we found the right car. I was sure that my father would give it to me as my graduation gift.

    On my graduation day, my father gave me a book as a gift. It was his old cookbook. I was so angry that I gave it back to him and ran out of the house. Several days later I moved away and started my business. Although I often saw my father during holidays, we never talked about the graduation gift. Then one day, I got a call that my father was ill. I went to see him because I was very worried.

    That night, I looked through my father's books and saw the cookbook that he had given me years before. I carefully opened the cookbook and went through it. Then I found something that made me cry. It was a check(支票) for $ 30,000 dated(注有日期) the day of my graduation. And the price of the car my father and I chose all those years ago was $ 30,000.

    There was once a rich man who loved his little boy very much. He wanted to try his best to please him.     In China, it's impolite to talk when eating dinner. And you're not supposed to start eating first if there are older people at the table.

    Life is full of regrets. The most regrettable moment of my past years happened in my junior high school. At that time, I failed my English exam.

    On a winter afternoon, I sat on my seat and waited for the English exam. It was the last exam of the semester. After the exam, we would enjoy our winter holidays. I didn't worry about the exam because I was good at English. And I was the so-called top student in my class. I thought it was not necessary to review English. In my opinion, it would be easy.

It is said we will have no coal or oil to use in 100 years. Also there is not enough food in some areas. So if we keep (waste) our resources, what can we use in future and where can we move? Think about it. I think we should say "no" to the people waste things every day.

    In our (day) life, we can do many things to stop waste from (happen). For example, remember to turn off the lights when we leave the room and we'd better use both (side) of paper.     Anger is a kind of feeling. Many things can make you (生气的). But sometimes, you hide your anger. For example, you may hide it in your heart. The (问题) is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.
