    Do you use Wikipedia(维基百科) to find information about people, places, things and events? Have you ever wondered who writes all the information? The website is actually run by thousands of everyday people, as well as computers that can automatically update(自动更新) certain pages. You can even write something on a page if you want to.

    Of course, it means that somebody can write incorrect information on a page. That does happen sometimes, but usually somebody else corrects the information quickly.

    Wikipedia has counted how many times each page has been edited(编辑) this year and one page stood out.“Deaths in 2016”was edited 18,230 times. That is likely because lots of high-profile(知名度高的) people, including English singer David Bowie, American singer Prince, American boxer Muhammad Ali and former Cuban President Fidel Castro, died in 2016.

    The 2016 US presidential election(总统选举) was followed by people around the world. It was also a popular page to edit on Wikipedia. The “Donald Trump” page had 8,933 edits and took second spot. The third most-edited page was related(与……有关)to Hillary Clinton, and the election itself took the fourth spot.

    Pages about movies, sports, world events, natural disasters(灾难), musicians and artists all appeared in the top 25 most-edited list. Vincent Van Gogh's page received 3,551 edits during the year. Four Wikipedia editors rewrote the page in order to give people a clear understanding of the Dutch partner's true nature, according to one editor.

    The variety of pages that were edited shows how people with entirely different interests are still all looking for information.

    Children across the world are taking pictures of their school meals. They are sending these pictures over the Internet to a young girl in Scotland. Then she shares the pictures and stories with people around the world.

    The girl's name is Martha. She likes to write. So Martha decided to start her own blog. Every day, Martha writes on the Internet about the meals she eats at school. She also takes pictures of the food.

    Martha is very honest about the food. She does not just describe the food. She judges (评价) the taste of the food. She also judges how healthy the food is.     Martha's blog has also helped to improve meals at her school. Martha and her school friends found their meals improved since she started writing her blog.

    No one knows what will happen to Martha's blog in future. But already this girl has helped to change the eating experience of many children just by sharing pictures of her school meals.

Musical for the new era

    Some of the world's most famous movies, like The Sound of Music（《音乐之声》）and Singin' in the Rain(《雨中曲》), are musicals. These are both very old movies, though. It seemed as if musicals had gone out of fashion.

    But La La Land, a new musical by US director Damien Chazelle, 32, had made the genre(类型) popular again. “Brilliantly written and directed, La La Land gives movie musicals life in the 21^st century,” Peter Travers wrote for Rolling Stone.

    Starring US actor Ryan Gosling, 36, and actress Emma Stone, 28, the movie was released in Chinese mainland on Feb14. Set in the colorful world of Hollywood's film and music scene, the two characters-a jazz musician and an actress-sing and dance their way to love.

    It has made history as the first film to win seven Golden Globe(金球奖) awards. It has also been nominated(提名) for a record-equaling 14 Oscars.

    Other popular movies of today are often about violence(暴力),war, drugs(毒品) or politics. Thanks to Chazelle's creative style, original music and wonderful location(地点), La La Land has a light feel that will put you in a good mood.

    It was the first time that my wife and I had flown first class. As we boarded the plane, we felt as if we were part of a wealthy group. We were (满的) of a sense of pride at sitting with those important people.

    We noticed that the stewardess (空姐)was working non-stop to make sure of the comfort of the first class (乘客). She could not walk by a seat (没有)being given an order. I thought she must love her job very much, since she gave each person (如此的) a big smile.

    The sense of belonging to an elite(精英) group in first class disappeared as soon as I heard those words. We were (提醒) that if there was no kindness, there would be no first-class flying.

    We are living in a time when the world is becoming a “village”. People travel around the world sightseeing, studying, working or volunteering. Perhaps in the near future, you will also become one of those people.

    Why is setting goals important? Because goals can help you experience everything you want in life. Instead of just letting life happen to you, goals allow you to make your life happen.

     It's life having a sign to show you where you want to go. Think of it in this way. There are two drivers. One has a place clearly in mind which can be found on a map. He can drive straight there surely without any wasted time. The other driver has no goal or map.

     But she drives aimlessly(无目的地) around, never getting anywhere, just using up oil. Which driver do you want to be?

     They decide what they want in life and then get there by setting goals and making plans. Unsuccessful people just let life happen by accident. Goals aren't difficult to set, and they aren't difficult to reach.
