You must have seen it a lot in Chinese cities: people riding electric scooters(电动滑板车)to work or for fun.

Riding electric scooters could seem cool at first sight. The scooter balances by itself with one or two wheels(轮子). Some of them also have a handle(手柄). Riders lean forward to make the scooter go faster. It also can stop if the rider shifts their weight backwards.

However, starting from the end of August, people can no longer ride electric scooters on public roads. It is in the interests of traffic safety, according to Beijing's traffic authorities(官方). There will be a 10 yuan fine(罚款)for those who ride scooters on the road. This follows Shanghai's decision to get scooters off the road last month.

"The one-wheeled scooters can go as fast as 30km an hour and they don't have brakes(刹车系统)," a traffic policeman told Beijing Youth Daily. "Two-wheeled scooters can even go as fast as cars at 60km an hour. But their brakes cannot compete with that of a car. It's very easy for scooters to run into cars or buses or hurt people on roads."

But this doesn't mean that scooters are only dangerous on public roads. People who ride them in doors or in their living places should also be careful, according to the Beijing Consumer Association.

There are still no national safety standards for electric scooters and some of them are very dangerous.

The association tested more than 20 electric scooters from different companies and found that most had safety problems. Nineteen scooters couldn't come to a full stop in less than 4 meters. This could be very dangerous.

(1)、How can riders stop the scooters while driving them?
A、They use the handle to stop. B、They put more weight forward. C、They shift their body weight backwards. D、They use brakes to stop.
(2)、Why can't the scooters go on the road in Beijing?
A、Because the authorities are not interested in scooters. B、Because scooters may bring traffic problems. C、Because people in Beijing are not used to driving scooters. D、Because the authorities want to compete with Shanghai's decision.
(3)、Which of the following is TRUE about scooters?
A、There can be either one wheel or two on scooters. B、The one-wheeled scooters can even go faster than cars. C、The two-wheeled scooters have the same brakes as cars. D、Scooters are not dangerous if people use them indoors.
(4)、What's the result of the Association's test?
A、Scooter companies wouldn't follow the national safety standards. B、Most companies that make scooters have safety problems. C、Scooters can't come to a complete stop by themselves. D、About 95 percent of scooters have problems stopping.

According to . media reports on Wednesday, Zhang Zening, a woman from Nanjing City, East China's Jiangsu Province, has made more than 50 sets of Hanfiu, or traditional Chinese costume(服装).

Zhang majored in materials science and engineering when she was in college, and she gave up her job after falling in love with Hanfu. It has been 10 years since Zhang made Hanfu by herself because those of her favorite styles were not for sale. She taught herself painting and costume design, and visited a dozen Chinese cities to explore museums, as well as to draw inspiration from murals(壁画) and literature, before making over 50 different Hanfu from past dynasties.

Zhang said the design of Hanfu was inspired by the murals of past dynasties. "What I did is not only to restore(使复原) a piece of clothing, but more to feel the culture Hanfu possesses, as well as the inspiration and significance(意义) of the mural, which made me very touched and glad," she said.

In July this year, a group of international students from Canada visited Zhang, hoping to work together to restoring Hanfu based on murals that have been lost overseas. Zhang is excited about the project, saying, "Even if the national treasures cannot return to the country, restring Hanfiu based on them allows these lost treasures to be seen by more people. It's also a contribution from us young people. "
