    Today is the last day of my exams. The maths exam is very difficult, but other exams are easy. I'm waiting for the holidays now, and I'm very anxious to see you and to be with you again. I'm going to spend my Christmas and New Year holidays in New York with my sister. I'm going down town. I'm going to go shopping for Christmas gifts. I'm excited about Christmas, and about seeing you again.

    Tom and John are good friends. Tom is twelve years old. John is eleven years old. They are good students. They like eating doughnuts. Miss White is their English teacher. She likes them very much.

    In Indonesia (印度尼西亚) , there is a special market. The market is on the water. Hundreds of vendors (小贩) sit in boats. They sell fruit and vegetables, for example, yellow bananas and red tomatoes. The vendors wear colourful clothes and big beautiful hats. They also decorate (装饰) their boats. All these bright colors come together. They make an amazing picture.

    Usually, vendors stay on the water for a whole day. When they go home, they go together. Look, many small boats make a chain (链子) . A bigger boat pulls them in the front. There are usually about 20 boats in each chain.

    Last night, Tom got on a bus. He was lucky to have a seat near the window. He opened his newspaper and began to read.

    After passing a few bus stops, a woman got on the bus with a big basket. There were no empty seats. She came and stood right beside Tom.

    At that moment, Tom was reading his newspaper and didn't see her. A few minutes later he looked up and put his newspaper in his pocket (口袋). He tried to get out of his seat, but the woman pushed (推) him back into his seat quickly.

    He tried to stand up again, but again the woman pushed him back into his seat. Then she said, "please don't stand up. I don't want men to give their seat on buses. men and women are equal (平等的) now." But Tom looked at her angrily and said ," This time I am really going to stand up, madam. You've made me miss two bus stops and I'm too tired to miss the next one, too,"

    After hearing this, the woman was very embarrassed (尴尬) and let him go.

    I have happy family. There are four people in my family. They are my father, my mother, my brother and I. My father is tall and thin. He is a doctor. He is very busy. He always helps people. My mother is an English teacher. She is a nice teacher. Her pupils like her very much. My brother is 12. He is very naughty. He likes playing computer games. I am a girl. I'm a pupil in Grade Three. I like singing very much.

    This is my family. It is warm. I love my family very much.
