In China, people born in and after the 1980s are called the post-80s generation(一代人). Most of them come from single-child families. However, this generation is playing a more and more important part in China, and their image(形象) in people's minds is changing. Han Han, a popular youth writer, is one of them.

    Han Han was born in 1982 in Shanghai. His talent for writing was clear at an early age. When he was 17, he attracted the public's attention with the article Viewing the People throughthe Glass. The article won first prize in the national New Concept Composition Competition. Later, Han Han again surprised the public by leaving high school. "I didn't do well in Grade One of high school and failed to move up to the next grade. I tried my best to improve my studies, but failed, so I gave up. However, I am always learning, since learning and going to school are two different things," Han Han said.

    Han Han's first novel Three Folded Gates sold very well in China. Later the book was translated(翻译) into several languages and sold abroad.

    In the following years, Han Han wrote a lot of books. All of them were welcomed by the market. In 2006, he started blogging (写博客) and had great success. Today, Han Han's blog has become one of the honest blogs on the Internet.

    A soap opera called "Tiger Mother and Cat Father" is popular in China now. The tiger mother is pretty strict with her daughter and the little girl is not allowed to watch TV or play computer games. On the other hand, she makes all efforts to buy the expensive house near the key school, in order to let her daughter have a better education. However, the cat father has an opposite view of how to raise their child. He gives her daughter more independence and doesn't make many rules for her. Which one is better, "Tiger Mother" or "Cat Father"?

    In China, it seems that in each family, there is tiger mother and a cat father, even worse, some families have two tigers. Children can't decide anything for themselves. What's worse, Chinese mothers believe key school will bring a better future to their children. This soap opera fully shows us a common problem in China. And maybe it is the real reason why such kind of TV shows can get popular.

    Whether the tiger mother or the cat father, respecting(尊重)children and growing together are the keys to family education. Confidence, kindness, honesty and independence are the most important qualities to develop a child, not the grades.     An old man went to live with his son, his daughter-in-law, and a four-year-old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was very poor, and he couldn't walk steadily(平稳地). That evening the husband took grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.

    There is a new cartoon movie called Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The story happens in a small American town. People there don't have enough food. They only have fish to eat. Luckily, an inventor comes to help people. Who is he? Read what he says: "Hi！I'm Flint. I'm an inventor. I invented a new machine to make food for our town. It changes water into food. And two years later, he went to America to compete(比赛). He became famous in 2011, because he got first at the Junior World Golf Championships(青少年高尔夫锦标赛)in America.

    Guan is a good boy. He didn't give up his study because of golf. He does well in school, so his parents don't worry about his study. His favourite golf player is Tiger Woods. "I think he has a strong heart. That's why he is a good player, "he said. Guan wants to be a great golf player, just like Tiger Woods. His dream will come true, because he is working hard for it.
