When I was little, my mother began selling flowers in Camden Market. She couldn't1me at home on my own, 2I had to go to the market with her.

    3, I didn't have to do anything. I just sat there, and my mother told me jokes and stories so I didn't get 4.When I got older, I gave my mother a hand and I really enjoyed it.

    Then one year, my grandma gave me a book for Christmas. It was all about making candles and I loved it. I was 14, and I didn't have to go to the market5because my mother could leave me at home on my own. I6my free time making candles of all shapes and sizes. I made7them.

    One day, my mother was ill, so I had to go to the market on my own. I decided to8some candles with me and see9I could sell them. They10in 20 minutes! The next week, my mother gave me some money to buy some wax (蜡) to make more candles. They were sold out really quickly, too.

    Ten months later, we decided11flowers. My mother and I couldn't make enough candles during the week, so some of my friends started to help us. I paid them one pound12every candle, and we 13sell them for three or four times. It was fun and my friends worked with me in the market.

    At the age of 22, my uncle14me some money and I opened my first shop in Portobello Road. Since then, I've15looked back, even in difficulties. In the first store, we only sold candles, but now we sell everything from the designer, furniture to paintings. Oh, and candles, of course.

    “You don't understand me!” I shouted. Then I ran out of the door and got on a bus. I didn't know 1 it was going. I just want to get away from home as 2 as I could.I couldn't 3what had just happened to me. My mother, the person I believe in, had just read all of my 4 from my close friends! It shouldn't have happened to me. She read my letters and told me not to write to 5 any more! I couldn't 6 the tears from falling when I thought about this. Later that day, I went to my close 7 house. 8 my friend gave me a cup of water, the phone rang. “It's your mother,” she spoke to me in a low 9. “Tell her that I'm not here!” I answered. However my mother heard it. “Tell her not to leave! I'll be right there!” Then she rang off the phone 10 a goodbye. In fact, I should say that I was a little 11. I couldn't imagine what would happen. But to my 12, when my mother arrived, “sorry” was the first word she 13 to me. Her 14 told me that she had been crying and her voice told me that she was really tired. “will you forgive (原谅) me?” at last she asked. I didn't know what to say. I just15her, and gave her a hug. She held me so tightly. You know, at that time, I felt so warm. I really love you, Mum!

    Tom and Linda were working in a big factory together. One day they were asked to go on a business trip. So they had to find a babysitter to take care of their two lovely babies.

    A week later, as they drove into their home town they noticed some 1 and went to see what it was. A house was on fire! Linda said, “Well, the house isn't ours. Let's go.”

    But Tom kept driving closer and said, “The house belongs to Fred. It has nothing to do with us, so let's go,” said Linda. Tom drove up and said nothing. A woman was 2 in the street. “My children! Help! Help!”

    Tom asked her to show him 3 her children were. “In the bathroom.” cried the woman. 4Linda didn't agree. Tom hurried to the bathroom which is full of smoke. He soon found two children. As he left, he could 5 some other sound like crying. He quickly sent the two children to a 6place. But he was told two more children were 7 inside. Linda shouted 8, “Don't go back! That house will fall down at any moment.”

    Tom went back by feeling his way down into the room. It seemed a century had passed before he find both the children and the way back. When they 9, Tom was so excited to find that he just saved his own children!

    The babysitter 10 them at this house while she did some shopping.

    I sat with my friend in a well-known coffee shop in a town of Italy.

    As we enjoyed our coffee, a man entered and sat beside us. He called the waiter over, saying, "Two cups of coffee, one of them there on the  1."

    We heard his order with  2  and noticed that he was served one cup of coffee  3 he paid for two.

    When he left, the waiter put a piece of paper on the wall saying "A Cup of Coffee".

    While we were still there, two other men entered and  4  three cups of coffee, two on the table and one on the wall. They had two but paid for  5. This time also, the waiter did the same thing. It was  6 unusual for us.

    After a few days, we had a chance to enter this coffee shop again. While we were enjoying our coffee, a man  7  appeared homeless entered. He looked at the wall and said, "One cup of coffee from the wall."

    The waiter served a cup of coffee to this man with  8. The man had his coffee and left without  9. We were amazed to watch all of this as the waiter  10  a piece of paper off the wall and threw it into the bin.

    Now it was no surprise for us – the matter was very  11  . The people of this town showed great respect for those people who needed help.

Just think about  12 this man wanted. He didn't have to lose his face to ask for a(n)13 cup of coffee.  14 asking or knowing who was giving him this cup of coffee, he only looked at the wall, made an order for himself,  15  his coffee and left.

    It's a truly beautiful thing – probably the most beautiful wall anywhere in the world.

    It was a Sunday afternoon. It was 1 and Mike decided 2 swimming in the river. His 3, Jim, wanted to go with him.

    "Take him with you, Mike," said their father. "He will do 4 you say, I think."

    They 5 the river quickly. 6 people were swimming in it. Mike told Jim to play on the bank, and then he jumped 7 the river. About an hour later, Mike swam to the bank with a fish in his 8. Jim was very happy. He found a bottle(瓶) and put the fish in it.

    Jim did nothing but watch the fish that evening. Suddenly(突然) Mike heard Jim crying(哭) in the room. He ran to him and asked, "What's the matter(怎么了), Jim?"

    "The fish has died," Jim said. "I thought it was 9. So I took it out of the bottle and put it on the chair. I 10 wanted it to have a rest."
