I'm Yu Fei. I come from No. 1 Junior High School in Ji'nan. It is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} beautiful. My friend Xiaoli is in this school Xiaoli is of medium {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. She has {#blank#}3{#/blank#} hair, a long face, a small mouth and big {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. She is thirteen. She is in Class Five, Grade Seven. She is a good student, and she is good at painting pictures. She hopes to be an {#blank#}5{#/blank#} when she grows up. She has two good {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in her school. They are Lucy and Lily. They are {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. They are twins. They are fourteen They have big noses and big eyes, and they are very {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and thin. Lucy, Lily and Xiaoli are in the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} class. Mrs. Smith is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} English teacher. She is friendly to them and often helps them.

8.8 million. It's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} than any other city in Guangxi. What makes my home town great? Let me show you some {#blank#}3{#/blank#} about it.

 The first photo is about the Qingxiushan Park. It's beautiful {#blank#}4{#/blank#} flowers, hills and lakes. Most people enjoy many lovely flowers in different seasons there. Because the weather is very hot in summer but{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. very cold in winter.

 On the second photo, people are choosing fresh fruit in the busy market. We can buy it from southeast Asian {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, ve are in a food paradise (天堂). Delicious local foods are {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, such as sour food(酸嘢), Old Friend Rice Noodles and Lemon Duck.

Look at the third photo. Zhuang people are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} folk songs during the Sanyuesan Festival. It's the special and enjoyable festival here..

 In the last photo, people are very {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to the visitors. They are always willing to lend a helping hand.

 Nanning means a' lot to me and it makes me {#blank#}10{#/blank#} who I am today. It is the perfect place in my heart.

Yuan Longping is a great scientist who is the first person to develop hybrid rice（杂交水稻）. His research greatly solved the problem of the food shortage in the world. 

Yuan Longping started the research in 1964. He put forward the idea of hybrid rice, did experiments（实验）on the farm, and succeeded in 1973. The new technology was tested in many areas of South China in 1974, and then he continued to test it in other areas. China has become the first country that can produce hybrid rice. Yuan made it possible to grow hybrid rice in large amounts, and he is called "Father of Hybrid Rice". 

Besides being a respected（受人尊重的）scientist, he is also a romantic husband and a caring grandfather. Yuan's granddaughters remembered that when he traveled to Hong Kong, he wanted to buy his wife a new watch, but it was too expensive, so he bought a candy instead. When he was 90 years old, his family held a birthday party. Hundreds of people came to the party. There was a moving moment: Yuan cut the first piece of cake and immediately gave it to his wife. They also said that their grandfather paid much attention to their English and math studies. No matter how tired he was after work, he would still ask about their studies. 

Yuan Longping loved playing the violin, swimming and driving. What's more, he had a special habit—playing Mahjong（麻将）with friends for an hour every evening to train his brain. Just like common people, the scientist laughed when he won and didn't hide his disappointment when he lost. When his requirement（请求）to build a research center was agreed to, he was very excited. 

This is Yuan Longping: an ordinary（普通的）person who made great achievements. 

I live in Leeds in the UK.Last month, I went to London for two nights.I travelled by train, which was fast and convenient.I stayed in a hotel near the Tower of London, arriving on Monday afternoon and leaving on Wednesday afternoon.

My first visit was to the Tower of London, where I saw the Crown Jewels and learnt about its dark history as the execution(处决) site of Anne Boleyn.At the British Museum, I hoped to see the Elgin Marbles—ancient Greek sculptures brought from Athens in 1816.Though the Elgin Marbles rooms were closed, there were many other interesting exhibits to explore.

In the evening, I dined at a restaurant near Tower Bridge and enjoyed traditional fish and chips.I also watched The Windsors, a comedy show about the royal family, but left early as it wasn't to my taste.The weather was perfect for walking along the Thames, where I discovered various famous sites.

What impressed me most about London was how the old and new mix together, from Roman remains to modern buildings.The people were friendly, and I hope to return soon.
