French artist Dufresne has turned to Chinese characters to explore art.

    His ongoing show at Yishu 8, a nonprofit and art space in Beijing, has installations (装置) on which some characters{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (paint) and visitors can play word games by moving them around to make new characters. Each Chinese character has different parts. Separating or {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (combine) these parts creates new things. For example ,the character of lin (forest), when put on the top of xi (dusk) becomes meng (dream).

    He {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( produce) them by first asking Chinese people he met in the streets, at parks and tourist spots,{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(write) different characters with ink brushes on paper, and then painted them onto large wooden boards, trying to make the characters look {#blank#}5{#/blank#} close to their original handwritten forms as possible.

    “Each character{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (vivid) reminds me of the person who wrote it. To me, the writer and the character seem to share the same personality,” says Dufresne. He sees the characters as the human body in motion. An ancient character {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (photograph) by himself at a Chinese museum appears to him like “a person walking”.

    Christine Cayol,{#blank#}8{#/blank#} is the founder of Yishu 8, says the young artist has provided “poetic viewpoint” his work by trying to create a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( connect) between Chinese characters {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the human body.

    A teacher once told each of her students to bring a clear plastic bag and a large bag of potatoes to school. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} every person that the students refused to forgive in their life, they {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(choose) a potato, wrote on {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the name of that person and the date, and then put it in the plastic bag. Some of their bags were quite heavy.

    They were then told to carry these bags with them everywhere for one week,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (put) them beside their beds at night, on their car seats when driving, and next to their desks at work.

    During this time,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} they carried the bags around with them, they realized what a weight they were carrying, and{#blank#}6{#/blank#}they needed to pay attention all the time, so as not to forget them or leave them in {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (embarrass) places. Of course, the potatoes were becoming {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (rot), and smelled very bad.

    This is the same as the price we pay for keeping our pain and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (happy) with us! Forgiving others is not only a gift to them, but also a very good gift to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}！

    One day a rich man took his sons on a trip to the countryside. He wanted to show them how the poor lived so that they could be thankful {#blank#}1{#/blank#} his wealth through hard work.

    They spent a couple of {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (day) on the farm of what would be considered a poor family.

    On their return, the father asked the elderly boy{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (explain) what he had learnt. To his surprise, the boy, who had kept {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (silence) and deep in thought on the journey home, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (reply) in a way that shocked his father.

    “I want to become a farmer,{#blank#}6{#/blank#} the farmers can enjoy the beautiful night stars while we have only expensive lanterns.” Finally, he asked his father, "What makes us safer, large walls around our house or some friends {#blank#}7{#/blank#} will protect us?"

    After a while, the boy finished by saying, "Before the trip I thought we {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (be) rich but today I learnt who is {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(true) rich." With this, the boy got up and walked away,{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (leave) his father sitting on their comfortable sofa, totally speechless.

The show is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (main) for preschoolers. But many older kids and even adults have become fans of the show {#blank#}7{#/blank#} well.

    “I think its popularity is partly because of it being ageless,” Richard Ridings, a voice actor {#blank#}8{#/blank#} plays Peppa's dad, told the Mirror.

    The show's stories are simple，but {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (it) humor is not too childish. Both kids and adults are always made {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (laugh) as soon as they see Peppa.

    Daisy had always longed to help endangered species of wildlife. One day she made a dream that she {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(take) to a distant land in Tibet by a flying carpet .There, the antelope told her they were killed for the wool beneath their {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(stomach). Then the carpet flew her to Zimbabwe {#blank#}3{#/blank#} she met an elephant. The elephant said they used to be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} endangered species because local farmers hunted them without mercy. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(fortunate), their number was now increasing {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the help of the government. So when learning that more attention was paid to{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(protect) wildlife, Daisy felt happy. Her final stop was a thick rainforest. A monkey was seen rubbing a millipede insect over {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(it) body.  Daisy was{#blank#}9{#/blank#}(amaze) and asked the monkey what the millipede contained. Knowing it contained a powerful drug, Daisy could hardly wait {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(share) the good news with WWF.
