A lot of boys and girls in west countries are wearing the same kinds of clothes: Many of them have long hair, so it is often difficult to tell whether they ate boys or girls.

    One day, an old man went for a walk in Washington. When he was tired he sat down on a long chair. A young person was standing onthe other side of the pool.

  “Good Heavens!” the old man said to the person who was sitting next to him on the chair. “Do you see that person with long hair? Is ita boy or a girl?”

  “A girl.” said his neighbor, “She's my daughter.”

“Oh!” the old man said quickly, “I'm sorry. I didn'tknow that you were her mother.”

  “I'm not,” said his neighbor, “I'm her father.”

    Tomorrow is June first. It's Children's Day. I am going to have a happy holiday. I am going to go to the library and read books. I am going to go to the park and take pictures with my friends. I am going to play computer games with my brother. I am going to help my mother make dinner. I am going to go shopping with my mother.

Tomorrow is Saturday. It will be fine. Sam will play football. Amy will play the piano and Jim will fly kites. Kate will visit her grandma. On Sunday the weather will be sunny. Sam，Amy，Kate and Jim will have a picnic. They are going to take some food and some toys.  

    My name is Linda. I live in the city. My grandparents don't live with us. They live in the countryside. But I always go to see them with my parents at the weekend. We went to see them yesterday. Dad helped Grandfather clean the garden. He cut the grass and planted some flowers too. Mum helped Grandmother clean the rooms. She washed the clothes too. I helped my grandparents pick apples. We picked a lot of apples and went back home with a big basket of apples. Today Mum is going to make apple pies for me and my grandparents. So I will go to my grandparents' home again today!

    China is in Asia. It's a very big country. It's bigger than Australia and smaller than Canada. Most of the people in China can have four seasons. But people in South China have three seasons-spring, summer and autumn. They don't have winter. In North China, people have a cold, dry and windy winter every year. People in Kunming only have one season-spring. It's warm and humid（潮湿的） all the year. There you can see green trees and all kinds of beautiful flowers. So "Spring City" is another name of Kunming.

My sister is Lily. She is nine years old. This is her room(房间).Look! Her book is on the desk. The ball is under the chair. Where is her bag? It's not on the bed, it's on the desk, too. She has got a new dress. It is on the bed. Lily likes her room.
