The Spring Festival is the biggest festival for Chinese people all around the world. The celebration usually last for 15 days. There is a lot to do.

    On the eve of the Spring Festival, family members get together and have big meals. Their favorite dish on this day is dumplings.

    Days before the Spring Festival, families will clean their homes. People think cleaning sweeps away bad luck. It makes the house ready for good luck.

    The color red is everywhere during the Spring Festival. People think red is a happy color and will bring them a bright future. People wear red, too. They decorate(装饰) their homes with pieces of red paper. Kids get a lot of hongbao. It is a paper bag with money in it .Usually, older people give younger ones hongbao. They think it brings good luck.

    The Spring Festival is the time to make everybody happy. So don't say any bad words or do anything that will bring unhappiness to other people.

    For instance(例如), you'd better not say any bad words like "death". Don't break anything. People think that it means your luck is running out.

    Also, don't borrow money on these days. If you have borrowed money, return it before the Spring Festival.

Many parents like twins(双胞胎) a lot. For many years, people think that twins have a secret language. A lot of parents of twins say that their children have a secret way of talking to each other by using some words they don't understand. "The twin language" was very special in people's minds for a long time. However, a study shows that twins hardly have secret languages. So why do people think that?

When babies are learning to speak, they often make sounds and their parents don't understand them. For example, a child may call a bottle "baba". Since twins are learning the language at the same time, they often make the same mistakes. So, if one of the twins calls a bottle"baba", the other possibly starts to do the same. Soon, the twins are using the same inaccurate word. Parents may think of this as a secret language. In fact, the twins are learning new words like any other child.

A study shows that true secret languages don't happen very often. It happens because babies spend a lot of time alone and don't have many people talking around them.

Some studies show that it often takes longer for twins to begin speaking than for non-twin children. This could be because parents of twins can be busier than parents with just one baby, so they don't have much time to spend with their twin babies. Because twins understand each other's language mistakes, it may take them longer to learn words right.

Many traditional woodcut prints(版画) are either black and white or simple in color, but reduction woodcut prints(绝版木刻) can show rich colors like Western oil paintings.

The reduction woodcut is a kind of woodcut that uses one piece of wood to make a colorful artwork. The artist cuts and prints different layers(层) in order on the same piece of wood. Famous for its colors , the reduction woodcut was listed as an intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产) in Pu'er, Yunnan, in 2009.

Leng Guangmian is a reduction woodcut artist, and he started learning the art at university in 2003. He said that making reduction woodcut prints is just like an adventure."Every time we cut a pattern on the block(木块) and then print, we never know what it will be like in the

end." As he sees beautiful patterns layer by layer, he only gets more excited, added Leng.

But finishing such work is not easy. He said that he needs to plan for the whole print and choose colors for different layers before cutting. A big print usually takes months to finish.

Leng hopes his artwork can not only show excellent woodcutting skills but also local culture and life." For my works, there are two series: the Tea Horse Road(茶马古道), since Pu'er is one of the starting points of that road; and disappearing villages," Leng said. "Many old villages in Pu'er need rebuilding for sake of safety reasons, so I want to make people remember their beauty before they are gone."

What's an American school like? There are some buildings in it, two classroom buildings, an office building, a science building, a sports hall, a dining hall and a big library. Every school has a big playground too. There are lots of trees and flowers in it, so some schools looks like parks. Many students like to read under trees. 

There are 20 or 30 students in a class. In the classroom, five or six students sit together as a group. Every student has a box. They can place their books and clothes in it. 

Students have six or seven classes every day. They study science, math, English and other lessons. Students go to different classrooms for every class. That's because every teacher has his or her own classroom. 

The school day finishes early in the afternoon. Most students join different after school activities like sports, game after school. Every student lives a busy but interesting school life.

③Alper heads up led a scientist team at North Carolina Stage University. "I joined the search and rescue missions in Turkey in 1999, "he said. "One of the most difficult problems was to find where the living people were. We needed to find them in a short time, but there was no useful way to help us at that time. "So Alper and his team had the idea of turning cockroaches into special robots.

④Scientists put a small sensor(传感器) and a smart camera on a cockroach's back. Cockroaches climb everywhere with them, With a sensor and the camera, cockroaches can tell people from other things, and then find where the missing people are. In this way, more people can be saved in time.
