安徽省亳州市利辛县2018届九年级上学期英语10月月考试卷
In the Olympic history before no city has hosted both the Winter and Summer Olympics. Now,Beijing will be first the city doing it.
After hosting the Summer Olympics in 2008 China will hold the 2022 Winter Olympics. On July 31st,2015,China beat Kazakh rival(对手) Almaty in a surprisingly close vote(选票).
In 2008 Beijing shut down many factories to reduce pollution, and the cost of hosting the Summer Olympics was $44 billion. During the 2022 Winter Games, however, Beijing hopes to show a greener China, with only $3.1billion.
Beijing plans to use several playgrounds from the 2008 Olympics, including the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. But the Wand sliding events would be in Yangqing and Zhangjiakou,60 and 140—kilometers away from Beijing.
Beijing was seen by the IOC as a safe, reliable (可靠的) choice because it offered great commercial (商业的) opportunities in a new winter spors market.
“It is really a safe choice," IOC President Thomas Bach said,"We know China will keep its promises."
School Lunches from around the World
Do you wonder what children are eating for lunch across the world? Take a look at different school lunches and learn something about kids'school lives across the world.
In Japan, 99% of elementary school(小学)students and 82% of junior high school students eat kyushoku (school lunch). It includes a bottle of milk, a bowl of rice, usually some types of fish, a salad, some kinds of soup, usually with tofu and vegetables, and a piece of fruit.
In the United States kids have hamburgers and chips for lunch. Those school lunches are making the kids so fat that many are unable to meet the physical fitness standards(标准). The good news is that Improving Nutrition(营养) for American's Children Act was recently passed. That will help to make school lunches more nutritional(有营养的).
In Beijing, school lunches are usually provided from home. A food service worker picks up the fresh meals from home and sends them to schools.
