Many people like travelling by plane, but I don't like it because airports are usually far from cities. You have to get there early and w{#blank#}1{#/blank#} for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late. Planes are fast, b{#blank#}2{#/blank#} it still takes hours to check in(办登机手续) and get out of the airport.

I like travelling by train. I think trains are safe. Railways stations are usually in cities. When you are l{#blank#}3{#/blank#} for a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train and open the window. You can see many interesting things on your way, too. 

I a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}like cars. You can start your journey(旅程) when you want to, and you don't need to get to the railway station or a bus stop. You can also carry many things with you. But sometimes there is a traffic j{#blank#}5{#/blank#} on the road and you will feel you're wasting time on the road.

Welcome to South China Fossil Museum. There are many different kinds of fossils in our museum. First, let me tell you something about fossils. A fossil is a special kind of rock(岩石). Some plants and animals lived many years ago. They died and were buried(被埋)under the ground for a very long time. Finally， these rocks become fossils. Then let me show you some of our fossils. Look at this one in the middle of thehall. It is a fossil of a dinosaur(恐龙). Dinosaurs lived on land before but now we can't see them anymore. Look at that one. It is a fossil of a fish. It lived in the water back then. But now it is in the museum. Can you see the fossil of a leaf? It was soft and green before. But now it is brown and hard. The fossil is a good way to study the history of animals and plants. Some animals and plants disappear forever(永远消失), but scientists can learn a lot about them from their fossils. I hope you enjoy your trip in our museum. 

Fast food

Eating is important for everyone. But not many people have right food.

"Fast food is easy, quick and delicious, "says Sarah Hudson, a 14-year-old high school student from America. She is enjoying her lunch at McDonald's. She eats fast food about twice a week.

Now each American eats about three hamburgers and four bags of potato chips every week.That is 2, 520 calories (卡路里). A man needs about 2, 000 calories for a whole day.

Most Americans know that fast food isn't good for them. But it seems that they can't give it up(放弃). In fact, fast food restaurants are part of American life. 96% of American people know McDonald's.

 Over millions of years ago, there were deserts. Now about one fifth of the Earth's surface  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) deserts. The size of the world's deserts is always {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(change). Deserts can be hot or cold. The Australian Desert is a hot desert, while the Gobi Desert in Mongolia is an example of a cold desert. Deserts are dry areas {#blank#}3{#/blank#} less than 50 cm of rain falls each year. The Sahara Desert in Africa receives less than 1.5 cm a year. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} rain doesn't fall very often in deserts, sometimes even for years, there can be heavy rain {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(sudden). Because they are dry, deserts have wide changes in temperature each day. When the sun {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(go) up, it is very hot. At night, the heat {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(receive) by the ground during the day  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(quick) disappears(消失), and then it becomes very cold. Because {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the change, living in the desert is very difficult. Man can make deserts, but they can also stop them from getting larger and larger. Planting trees can prevent the sand from {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(spread).
