Long long ago, there was a crowd of antelopes(羚羊)in the forest. In this crowd there was1wiseteacher. He was admired by everyone because he taught the young the tricks and strategiesof survival. One day, his younger sister brought her son2 him and asked him to teach3wasimportant to antelopes. She said, "Dear brother, this is my son, Dick. Pleaseteach him the tricks and strategies of survival. The teacher said to Dick, "You4 come at this time tomorrow foryour5 lesson."

    At first, Dick came to have lessons on timeevery day. But soon, Dick became6 inplaying games with others, so he began to cut classes.7,he didn't realize how dangerous it could be for a young antelope8 learned nothing but games.

    Unfortunately, one day the young antelope steppedin a trap. Knowing Dick9, his mother was worried. She went to herbrother and10 him"My brother, how is my son? Have you taught him the tricks and strategies ofsurvival? The teacher replied, "My dear sister, I tried11 best to teach him, but your son did not want tolearn the tricks and strategies of survival. He cut classes. How could I possiblyteach him?"

    At this time, they heard that Dick12 in a trap. They hurried to rescue him before itwas too late. Dick was too scared13 andregretted deeply.

 The Confucius Institute(孔子学院) helps make African young people's dream come true. The{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(story) of Meheta and Krishna are examples. 

 Meheta, a girl from Mussoorie, is thankful to the CI. It is the starting point for all her dreams. Her parents always asked her {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(learn) Chinese at the CI. Meheta got a chance to visit China{#blank#}3{#/blank#} she studied there. And she entered the Chinese Bridge, a competition for foreign college students. She was the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(one) African to make it to the final(决赛). After that, her life has changed. 

Krishna, from Kenya, is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} fan of Chinese kung fu films and lion dance. So far, he has studied Chinese at the CI for nearly two years. He {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (join) the Chinese kung fu club. After that he got the chance to travel to China {#blank#}7{#/blank#} a summer camp program. "I never thought one day I would be able to visit China. That was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(happy) moment of my life, " he said. 

 Chinese is very popular in Africa. In recent years, the number of students at the CI has increased a lot. Learning Chinese gives {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (they) more chances. Many young people can go to China to experience a different life. They can {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (easy) get jobs in their countries. 

 The CI creates possibilities for students and helps to develop the friendly cultural exchanges between China and Africa. 

I'm Anna, a college student. I think I'm quite good at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(cook). Most people seem to enjoy eating the food I cook for them.

I first {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(start) trying to cook when I left home and went to college. I didn't   have much money and it was much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) to cook my own food sh an to eat in the canteen(餐厅). Also, it isn't healthy to eat out too often. One cool thing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} college is that I had a small kitchen. I' ve bought some {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(machine) for cooking. And I' ll buy a blender soon.

I learnt p y {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(I). I used the Internet to look for the recipes(食谱)I was interested  · in. I also asked my parents sometimes. However, when I first started croking, most of my food   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) terrible. But I learnt quite fast. Now,I always invite(邀请) my friends to my room and cook for them {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(celebrate) every festival together.

 Except(除....之外) at {#blank#}9{#/blank#} very beginning,I think I' ve found it quite easy, mainly   {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I enjoy cooking and I enjoy eating. But it's not something that everyone can learn to do. I think some people are just too impatient(没有耐心的) to learn to cook well.
