My name's Zach, and I'm from a big family. I mean, it's a really big family. My last name is Malicek. Maybe you don't know us, but we're the biggest circus (马戏团) family in the country. We're "The Flying Maliceks"! We weren't always the biggest circus acts, though. When my grandpa Viktor started as a trapeze (高空秋千) performer in Slovakia, there was only one Flying Malicek: him!

My grandpa moved to the United Kingdom when he was about 20 years old. He quickly found a circus job working in his new country. A few years later, Grandpa Viktor married my grandma Irina. Grandpa taught my grandma how to perform on the trapeze, and soon there were two Flying Maliceks. My grandma didn't perform all the time, though. She took time off to have a few babies. She had eight of them, actually!

My father Daniel is the youngest child in the family. He has five brothers and two sisters -my uncles and aunts. All of them learned to perform on the trapeze when they were children. The people at the circus love watching the Flying Maliceks. And we all love watching their excited faces when we fly through the air.

My grandpa and grandma are getting older now. They retired (退休) from performing about five years ago. But the Flying Maliceks aren't getting smaller - we're getting bigger! I have two older sisters, and we all perform in the act. My aunts and uncles all have children, and they perform, too. In total there are 37 of us! Can you believe it?

Last year, we were on TV. We had our own reality show called Circus Family. Some people from the TV show followed us around with cameras all the time. It was exciting, but sometimes I wanted them to go away! One special thing happened when we were on that show. My cousin Gillian met a cameraman, and six months ago they got married. Now he's learning the trapeze, too!

Long time ago, children didn't have smart phones, iPads or computers to play with. However, they thought of interesting games to play. Let's take a look. 

How to Develop a Good Parent and Child Relation

The relation between a parent and a child is the most important in a child's life. It can make a difference to the child's life much. Positive relations can help children grow healthily and successfully. Here are some ways to help you build a good relation.

Get used to their way. If you learn more about their ideas and opinions, you will communicate or play with them in their way. This will help you get close easily. You can communicate with them freely and find the world in their heart through playing games on the floor instead of at the dinner table.

Make good use of family time. You must make family time a regular (有规律的) and special part of your life. Then your children can know you accept and respect them. You can eat meals together most nights of the week. You can also share sports events, movies and other events.

Join in children's school. If you have some free time, volunteer in the children's school. Then you can know more about your children at school. You can also sit near them when they do homework. This will make them better at schoolwork.

Build trust. It's important for you and your children to believe in each other. You can make them know they can trust you. When you plan to do something, you must finish it. You will set a good example for them.

Listen to children. If children are complaining (抱怨) about school, you must listen to them. Then they will know you are important and trust you. You also need to leave your mobile phone and TV and look at children's eyes. Then you can give your opinions and ideas to them in time.

Recently, secondhand transaction(交易) has become quite popular in our daily life. More and more secondhand goods have found their way in the market, such as used books, furniture and even cars. Why do so many people like to buy secondhand goods? One of the most important reasons is that the Internet provides a more convenient and quicker transaction platform(平台) for secondhand goods.

Li Li, 29, an office worker in Shanghai, sells used products online. Since she began to cooperate with a secondhand transaction platform two years ago, she has sold nearly 14，000 yuan of goods.

The size of China's secondhand product market rose from about 300 billion yuan in 2015 to more than 1 trillion yuan in 2022. Xinhua News Agency reported that the rapidly growing Chinese online resale platforms have also driven secondhand transactions. 

"The increase shows Chinese young people's changing views on consum-ption(消费)，" said Zhang Li, a researcher from the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation. "Traditionally, buying used products is often seen as a sign of being poor that is socially shameful. But today they focus on the actual value of the product instead of whether it is completely new，" said Zhang.

Secondhand consumption also shows the ideas of environmental protection and the need to cut down on waste. "Humans are the creators of things in life and should be responsible for everything they create，" said Lu Yaping, the founder of a secondhand goods exchange platform.

After a long day's study at school, you are very tired. So after school you go home to relax. When you get home, a robot welcomes you. He's happy to see you and helps you take your school things to your room. He listens to you talk about your school life and tells you a new joke. And he tells you to call your cousin and to say happy birthday. And then he helps you with your homework. 

This is your future, and the robot's name is NAO. NAO has a small body, big eyes and a large head. He can walk and dance. He listens and talks, and he even learns and thinks for himself. His creators predict that the robot will be in people's homes before 2040. This $16, 000 robot knows who you are. 

NAO can even express emotions(表达情感). He is a self-guided robot. A self-guided robot can sense(感觉), think and act. Other robots might do two out of the three. For example, a robot might sense things using cameras and think using computers, but with no arms, he can't act. Another robot can move and sense things, but he can't think for himself. These aren't self-guided robots. But NAO can do them all. 

Imagine a perfect day: the weather is good and everything seems fine. When, suddenly, your mobile phone loses its signal, the television has no programmes, and you can't get online with your computer.

What has happened? These are just the types of problems a solar storm（太阳风暴）might cause. You may not think of storms as putting our society in danger. But today, a solar storm is as serious as other bad events, such as earthquakes.

A solar storm is caused by solar flares（太阳耀斑）: large explosions（爆炸）near the Sun that can give off lots of energy. The strong energy can stop the satellite systems（卫星系统）that control our computers, telecom networks and so on. These storms can even cause the power to go out for weeks or months.

Scientists have recorded some of the strongest sun flares in years. One happened around Valentine's Day, 2011. It caused radio and satellite signals to go down in some northern cities in China.

"Solar flare activity is going to be much worse than what we've seen in the past. We're not talking about a few cities losing power, it could behalf of the country, maybe more," Solar Storm Warning.com, a US website about space weather, warned.

Scientists say that little can be done to predict such a storm. Governments around the world are trying to work together before the next storm, although they are not sure when that may happen.
