Hello! My name is Congcong. I have three pen pals. Let me tell you something about them.

Sally comes from Australia. She lives in a beautiful village. She likes doing word puzzles and going hiking. She often goes hiking with her parents on weekends. She loves studying Chinese.

Mark is a 11-year-old boy. He is from the UK. He is also interested in studying Chinese and Chinese culture. He always asks me about them. I'm going to teach him Chinese poems this summer holiday.

Emily is from China. She is very friendly. She likes playing the guitar. And she wants to be a singer in the future. She also likes reading books. She often reads books after school. This can help her learn more about the world.

These days, a restaurant in Ningbo, Zhejiang province（省）has become really {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. What's new about it？The waiters in the restaurant are robots!

Lu Dike, owner of the restaurant, bought five robots to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} him. Each robot costs about 60,000 yuan, but using robots is much cheaper than hiring（雇佣）people. He hopes that the robots could bring  more  customers（顾客） to his {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

The robots can speak 40 short sentences. For example, "Please enjoy your meat." If someone is standing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the robot，it will say,  "I'm sorry. I'm busy working now." Many people come to the restaurant to take photos with these robots.

Brian loved watching comedies（喜剧）best and hoped to become a comedy actor one day. When he heard about a show to be held at his school， Brian decided to join in it at once.But some students laughed at him."You are not funny，" Ken，one of his classmates， said."No one will like what you do，" another boy also said to him loudly. Brian was sad. He couldn't understand why they were so unkind to him. For a moment， he thought about stopping doing it. But he remembered how much his friends liked his jokes，and also his teachers said he was very funny. So he decided to prepare for the show.

 Brian did a great job at the show and got the first prize! His teachers and friends were proud of him.Even so，some students still said to Brian that he would not be a comedy actor in the future. Brian didn't understand why they said so， but he decided to continue to work towards his dream.

 Now Brian is a big comedy star! He has performed in many movies. His fans thank him because his comedies make them feel good when they are unhappy!

Zhang Beijing is a taxi driver in Beijing. He has a blue and white hat. His shoes  are red and his glasses are black. He is very happy because he gets an Olympic opening ceremony ticket(奥运会开幕式门票). He can't wait to show it to everyone. A boy, Wang Dong,is in Zhang's taxi. Zhang shows his ticket to Wang Dong.

Wang Dong's father is a worker(工人). He works for the Bird's Nest project(项目). Wang Dong can't see his father andmisses him. So he wants to see his father's work. But he has no tickets. Zhang gives it to him and helps him. Wang Dongdoesn't know Zhang's name. Later, he expresses(表达) his thanks to the man in red shoes on TV.

Mike wants to go to the post office, but he doesn't know the way. He sees an old man in the street. He says, "Can you tell me the way to the post office?" The old man doesn't answer.

Mike gets angry and shouts, "Old man, tell me the way to the post office! Can you hear me?" The old man looks at him and says, "Walk along this road and then turn left at the second crossing. Turn right, and turn right again. Then you will find the post office."

Mike does what the old man says. He walks for half an hour. He meets the old man again. He is very angry and shouts, "Why do you tell me the wrong way?" The old man says, "Because you are not polite. You ask in the  wrong way."

I'm Mike. I used to live in a small town with trees all around. There weren't any tall buildings and the only street was narrow. Just outside the town, there was a river. You could see different kinds of fish swimming in the clean water. People here lived a simple life.

Great changes have taken place here. You can see tall buildings, big department stores and factories everywhere. Many cars and buses are running on the wide streets. We have fewer trees. Air and water pollution are becoming more and more serious. We must do something to stop pollution and make our town more beautiful.
