Get a Life is a website (网站) that helps junior high students answer the question- What do you want to be when you grow up?

Get a Life suggests (建议) teenagers let their hobbies and interests decide (决定) what to do in the future. It encourages them to look for activities that help them try to do some jobs and get important knowledge (知识) and skills. It also offers (提供) information about fast- growing and well- paid jobs, and provides job training (培训) for teenagers. 

"Junior high school is the wonderful time for students to find out their interests, to have many different experiences (经历) and do something for their future jobs, "a junior high school teacher said. "Our world will become a better place if we make our horizons wide and try new things. Our students can't wait until (直到) high school or university (大学) to begin building their dreams. Now it is the right time to get a life. "

"This website is exactly (准确地) what these children need for a better future. If our children can make better plans for their future, it is more possible for them to succeed, " Combs said. 

Zhang Daqian was born in 1899 in Sichuan. He came from an art-loving family His mother first taught him painting. He copied lots of great paintings he could see. Shitao and Bada Sbanren influenced him a lot. In the early 1940s, Zhang studied the Buddhist wall paintings in Dunhuang for two years. This was important for his art growth. 

Zhang's works are famous for his many painting styles. He could paint detailed portraits(肖像). He was creative and had his own style, but his art was based on Chinese tradition. People like his later works, especially his lively splashed-ink landscapes. 

When Zhang was old, he mastered the art of "painting from heart to hand". In 1971, he chose this phrase for a stamp. This phrase has two meanings. First, Zhang was proud that he could paint nature's different things with various styles. He got this ability by copying old masters' works, making his art combine many historical styles. He also traveled a lot, which gave him more life experience to paint the world's beauty. Second, the phrase shows Zhang's belief that an artist should follow his heart to show "spirit harmony". This is an old idea about Chinese painting beauty Before painting, Zhang knew what he wanted to paint and what feeling he wanted to show. He knew how to amaze people with his paintings. 

Zhang lived a long life and died at 83 in 1983. He was energetic. He painted many paintings in his life, about 500 per year on average. 

In 2011, Zhang became the most popular Chinese artist at auction(拍卖会), more popular than Pablo Picasso. People still want his works very much. 

Nobody likes making mistakes, but the truth is that everyone makes mistakes. It's just a part of life. However, how you treat those mistakes makes a difference in how you learn and whether you repeat the same mistakes. Here's some advice on what you can do, if you are upset about your mistakes. 

Think about your mistakes and learn from them. It helps you to learn to think like a scientist and develop scientific thinking habits. ▲ One of them is to make educated guesses called hypotheses ( 假 说 ) and test those guesses to see if they' re right or wrong. They look at the results of their tests and learn from their mistakes — since hypotheses are often wrong. Then, they change their hypotheses and run new tests on them again. 

Try to keep practicing dealing with your mistakes. Research over the years supports an idea known as the 10, 000-hour rule. It says it takes about 10, 000 hours to become an expert in something. It means that practice is necessary for people to be good at something. Research also shows that the best improvements come from deliberate( 有 意 的 ) practice. It means paying full attention to your mistakes and fixing those problems before moving on. Even though you might not be trying to become an expert right now, you can still use deliberate practice to get good at dealing with your mistakes and grow as a learner. 

Don't feel bad or worry too much next time you make a mistake. See it as a chance to learn and take the time to find out what went wrong. It will help your brain remember the mistake and what you' ve learned from the mistake. These memories will help you not repeat the same mistakes in the future and also help you learn to think like a scientist and learn from your mistakes!

Have you ever been on a roller coaster? If you have, you must have screamed when the roller coaster was running at the fastest speed. What an exciting way to have fun!

People have enjoyed the excitement of roller coasters for hundreds of years. Roller coaster rides began in Russia. Over 300 years ago, Russians made slides(滑梯) out of wood and ice for winter festivals. They just needed to keep watering wooden ramps(坡道) and the ramps would become huge and smooth ice slides. Then they carved(雕刻) ice seats to make sleds(雪橇) that could be used on slides. In the end, they climbed up a set of stairs at the back of the slides. This is the prototype(雏形) of roller coasters.

Gradually, people wanted to enjoy sliding all year round. In 1817, a company in Paris began to develop a facility(设备) that could lock(固定) cars on the track. The first roller coaster officially came out.

The Switchback Railway was built at Coney Island, New York, in 1884. To ride it, people had to climb a tower. At the top of the tower, they would get into a small train which took them down a 200-meter slope(斜坡). At the bottom, people got out and the driver took the train back up to the top. It wasn't much of an exciting ride because its top speed was only 10 kilometers an hour.

Today, roller coasters come in all shapes and sizes. One of the fastest is the Top Thrill Dragster in Cedar Point, Ohio. It can "reach speeds of 190 kilometers per hour, But it may not be the fastest after a while because there will always be faster and more exciting roller coasters coming out.
