When I was five, I had cancer ( 癌 症). My family learned about an organization that provided photography (摄影) classes to kids 1   cancer. I took the classes and learned how to 2a camera and how to take photos in different lighting situations. Taking photos made me 3about being sick for a while.

    At first, most of my photos were of4little dog, Charlie. I took pictures of him sleeping or playing. I also took pictures of 5 like flowers, trees and rivers. I 6 took photos of a little mouse once.

    Last year, I got invited to be a photographer on the red carpet (地毯) of  a big show in Los Angeles. I was so excited 7I could take photos of famous people. It was my first time to get close to them! It felt 8.

    Being a photographer and taking photos makes me feel happy. Now I want to 9what I have learned with other kids. I can't wait to pass on everything I've learned about photography and make other 10feel great, too.

We decided to have a trip to the mountain in our town. My mother  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(唤醒) me up early in the morning. We took some water in order not to be  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(渴的). We didn't want to  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(浪费) time, so we set off so early that there were few cars on the road. We could   {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(几乎不) see anybody on the road.

We got there early. The mountain area is about 1,000  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(平方的) kilometres. It has beautiful  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(风景). There are many rocks in different   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(形 状)everywhere. Some are like  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(人),some are like animals and others look like monsters. We walked along the  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(小路) and got to the top of the mountain. We could see the whole town. Mother  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(指;指向) to a faraway village and told me where my grandma's house was. We had a great time there.

Ronny looked like every other kid in the classroom where I volunteered as the Reading Mom. However, he had a speech problem so he couldn't 1 like other kids in his grade.

I worked with all the students in Ronny's class one by one to improve their reading skills. On the days when it was Ronny's 2 , I'd give him a silent smile. That's why he sat very close to me and opened the book as if he was opening a treasure that 3 had ever seen.

I watched his fingers move 4 under each letter as he read out difficultly.

Every time he managed (完成) to read a word with a 5 pronunciation (发音), the biggest smile would spread across his face and his 6 would shine with pride.

A few weeks before the school year ended, I 7 Ronny a book—one of those Little Golden Books. A few days later, I returned to the school to visit. I 8 Ronny on a chair with the book. His head teacher said, "He hasn't 9 that book since you gave it to him." Deeply moved, I walked 10 Ronny, placed my hand on his shoulder and asked, "Will you read me your book, Ronny?" For the next few minutes, he read to me more 11 than I'd ever thought. The 12 were already dog-eared (卷角的), like the book had been read many times already. When he finished reading, Ronny closed his book and said with great 13 , "What a good book!"

At that moment, as a writer, I knew I would get 14 about my own writing and do what that writer had done, and probably still does—care enough to write a story that 15 a child's life, care enough to make a difference.

We have lots of after-school activities. For example, we take school 1 every school year. Last month, my classmates and I visited one of the most famous museums in Shanghai, the Minhang Museum. As I stepped into the 2 , I felt a sense of excitement. When I went into the main hall, I 3 many pieces of ancient pottery ( 陶 器 ) on show. These ancient treasures had lovely designs in different colors. If you looked at them 4 , you could even read interesting stories from the patterns (图案) on some of their surfaces!

I had a chance to have a look at some 5 instruments in another hall. They were quite different from modern instruments. I 6 that some of the instruments had five strings (弦) , but most of them had seven strings. These instruments were of different 7 , big and small. In addition, the patterns on the bodies of the instruments were also 8 . There were different patterns like orchids ( 兰花) , bamboo, and many other pictures that 9 good meanings in our traditional culture.

Many foreigners come here, too. The museum is like a bridge which 10 Western culture with Chinese culture. It shows people its great magic.

A little boy wants to meet God (上帝), so he starts his trip with some cakes and orange juice. On his way, he sees an old 1 sitting in the park. The boy sits down next to her. The old lady looks 2 , so he gives her a cake. She 3 it thankfully and smiles (微笑) at him. Her smile is so beautiful! The boy wants to see it again, 4 he gives her a bottle of orange juice. Once again she smiles at him. The boy is very happy! They sit there all 5 . They eat and smile, but they never say a word. 

When it turns dark (黑暗的), the boy gets up to leave. 6 he leaves, he gives her a kiss. She gives him a(n) 7 again. 

When the boy gets home, his mother sees the smile 8 his face. She asks him,

"9 makes you so happy?" He answers, "Have lunch with God. She has a beautiful smile!" The old woman also gets home 10 . Her son asks, "Mother, why are you so happy?" She answers, "I have cakes in the park with God. You know what? He's a young boy!" 

Tomorrow I'll be one of the first students to travel into space. I'm so1 ! The spaceship will2 the earth at 9 a. m. It'll take us to the moon. I can't wait!

The moon is about 380,000 kilometers3 the earth. It'll take us about four days to4 there. There's no gravity(重力) in space, so we can5 around in the spaceship. We'll have to tie(绑) ourselves to our6 so that we won't float (飘浮) away in our sleep! Without gravity, our bodies may get7 , so we'll have to do exercise every day.

When we arrive, I'm going to walk on the moon. I'll have to8 a spacesuit(太空服) to help me breathe(呼吸)9 there's no air on the moon. I'm going to take many photos if my10 still works there. I'm looking forward to it.
