Last summer,Cathy's whole family went to New York City for their summer vacation. They stayed there for two weeks.

New York City has more than seven and a half million people.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} It is also the home of the United Nations.

First they visited the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is one of New York's most well-known places.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} On the second day they went to the Empire State Building. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}From the top of the building, they saw most parts of New York. On the third day they visited the Metropolitan Museum.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} During the rest time of the week, Cathy went to Bronx Zoo with her younger brother and sister. There they were glad to see a lot of their favourite animals-tigers, lions, monkeys, and elephants.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#} On the island, they spent most of their time swimming sunbathing and playing on the beach. They all had a good time.

Anna's coat is too small. She goes shopping with her mother on Sunday. She wants to buy a new coat. They go into a clothing shop first (首先). Anna finds a green coat in the clothing shop. She likes it very much. She tries it on, but it's too small for her. She wants a big one, but the big one is not green. She isn't happy.

Then she wants to go to another (另一个) shop to have a look. Then they find a new shop. The shop is big. There they see many kinds of coats in different colors and sizes (尺码). Anna tries on a green one. It looks nice on her. Anna is very happy. She takes it for fifty yuan. 

I read a story last night and found it very inspiring. Now, I'd like to share it with you.

A group of frogs were travelling through the woods.1 , two of them fell into a deep hole. When the other frogs saw how deep the hole was, they told the two frogs just to2 . But the two frogs didn't believe it. They tried to jump out of the3 with their own efforts. The other frogs kept telling them to4 trying and to wait for death. Finally, one of the two frogs gave up and fell down. Soon he died.5 frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs shouted at him and told him to stop and just to wait to die. But he jumped even harder, and finally, he6 it.

What lesson can you learn from this story? If you ask me, I will tell you that after reading this story, I decide to10 others when they are in trouble.

Recently, a new kind of bike called the shared bike has appeared in many cities in China. Shared bikes are easy and cheap to use. First, you download the app of a shared bike onto your smart phone. Then when you want to unlock and ride a bike, you just scan the two— dimensional code(二维码) on the bike with your smart phone. The GPS—supported app helps position the bikes no matter where they are parked. And they can be left in public places for the next users. If you need a bike, you can easily find the nearest one through the app. A 30—minute ride costs only 0.5 to 1 yuan.

Among different kinds of shared bikes, Ofo and Mobike are the most popular ones. It is said that in the first week of this year there were 585 million active users of Mobike and Ofo had 1.4 million users. Ofo, which got its name from the look of a bicycle(Ofo), was first used by students in Peking University and soon became popular out of the university.

 "In places where the subway doesn't get to, or places where it's difficult to change from one kind of transportation to another, it's easy to get where you want to go with a shared bike."said Hu Hong, one of the users from Shanghai.

This winter holiday, my family and I went to Beijing for a trip. We went to many places of interest. My favourite one was Peking University. 

Peking University is one of the best universities in China. We walked into the school from the east gate. There are many traditional buildings in the university. The most famous is the Boya Pagoda (博雅塔) built in 1924, it is a great example of the traditional Chinese building style. 

We then walked to the Weiming Lake with a long history. The lake is another popular place in the university. The word "weiming" means"without being named" in Chinese. Many students like to walk around the lake. During the winter, the lake is frozen. Students can walk or skate on the lake. 

As we walked around the school, we saw some modern teaching buildings, classrooms, libraries and labs. There are also museums in the university. We really enjoyed the beautiful campus (校园) and the rich history of Peking University. 

I hope I will study in Peking University when I grow up.
