As a teenager, I was pretty lazy when it came to doing things for my family. I worked hard at school and I found I was not glad to 1 out at home with even the simplest things.

Every Wednesday afternoon, for example, my mother 2 me to another town for a piano lesson. During my two-hour lesson, she rushed to the market and bought a week's 3 . Knowing my mom had driven me twelve miles there, twelve miles back, you might think I'd be very 4 to help her bring the food into the house. 5 I wasn't. I just carried my schoolbag on my back and left the rest for Mom.

Back in my room, I felt 6 not helping my mother more. Deep inside (在内心深处),I wanted to change my 7 . But I also realized (意识到) that once I took on more housework, my parents would start 8 more of me. At the age of fifteen, I realized that one small 9 would happen: from a cared-for child to a 10 young man.

Traditional opinions influence the lives of many children and this is also true in Japan. Japanese children today are surrounded by the very latest and most modern inventions and technologies. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} They are also expected to study hard and succeed in life.

The children of Uganda also enjoy parties and special days but these parties are organized for them by the "Save the Children Fund", rather than by their parents. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}Because of this, many children have lost one or both of their parents to the disease called AIDS. During the weekends, they join group meetings that are run by trained volunteers. These groups give children the chance to play with one another.

This summer holiday was great for me. My parents took me and my brother {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Paris. We flew there on July 16th {#blank#}2{#/blank#} stayed at my aunt's house. The weather {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(be) very hot, almost 40℃. But there was {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(anything) interesting to see in Paris.

In the evening we walked along the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. It's a very beautiful street. My parents bought many gifts for

Maddie Clybum used to be self﹣abased（自卑的）because she was born with an ear that never developed. Other kids used to laugh at this lovely six﹣year﹣old girl. What was worse， {#blank#}1{#/blank#}hearing was getting weaker and weaker because of these situations. But now everything has{#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

It was the first time that Maddie saw her new ear. "I have something really helpful {#blank#}6{#/blank#}you. This is your new big ear. "The doctor explained to her how she had got her new ear，surprising the girl a lot. 

Her mom Erin could hardly wait. "People used to ask uncomfortable {#blank#}7{#/blank#}and my daughter has been silent for years. They used to make fun of her {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. "

Now everything has changed and she has never been so {#blank#}9{#/blank#}. 

On the day of her operation（手术）. Maddie was excited and worried. After a nine﹣hour her amazing 3 D ear came out. Her mom cried with tears （眼泪） {#blank#}10{#/blank#}she saw a photo of her daughter's new ear. 

Whoever Maddie meets now，she is used to saying "I {#blank#}11{#/blank#}my new ear. "

Taihang Grand Canyon National Forest Park is a natural wonder. It lies in the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} part of Huguan County. There are some sweet springs, silver chains — like waterfalls, deep pools, clear streams, interesting karst caves and forests spreading all over the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} .

I always remember the journey to go there. In the early morning, we began to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the canyon. At first the canyon was silent. With more and more people coming, the canyon became noisy. There were so many trees and we didn' t know most of them. Some signs along the paths told us something about different sights. We heard the loud waterfalls {#blank#}4{#/blank#} we were far away from them. When we got near, we {#blank#}5{#/blank#} cool at once. The waterfalls were high and pretty. We also visited some other sights and had great fun there.

Today, lots of children enjoy watching Peppa Pig on TV. Peppa Pig shows the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} and daily stories of the pig family. It can {#blank#}2{#/blank#} both parents and children and make them laugh. But do you know who created it?

There are three men called Nev, Mark and Phil. They were classmates and they all loved drawing pictures. One day, they had a great idea about creating a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} for children. This was their first work and they {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to succeed. Then they took it to Bad Wolf. But Bad Wolf only played it at midnight the first day and mid-afternoon a week later. Finally, the Bad Wolf {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the programme off the screen completely. The three{#blank#}6{#/blank#} men thought, "We have to come up with another different idea, but this time we will not give it to the same company. " So they took their {#blank#}7{#/blank#} work to Channel Five in England. Then they also brought it to America and 180 other countries, and these countries all showed it on TV. Then it {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the love of many people. It is the cartoon known as Peppa Pig.{#blank#}9{#/blank#} the Bad Wolf was full of regrets(后悔).
