My name is Felix Black. I am from America. I am twelve years old. And I am a student at No. 2 Middle School in Suzhou, Mrs Zhao is our Chinese teacher. My friend is also a student here. Her name is Maria Smith. She is from England. She is thirteen years old. Maria and I are new students at No. 2 Middle School. We like our Chinese class.

Scientists say they recently invented the world's tiniest remote—controlled robots. The robots are small enough to sit on the side of a coin. They don't have any power of their own，and they can be controlled from a distance by using lasers（激光器）. The scientists say one day robots like these may be able to work in areas too small for tools. The robots don't move very quickly. But because of their tiny size，they're also not too slow. It takes the robots about 20 seconds to cover 1 centimeter. 

Right now the robots aren't all that useful. All they can do is to move，and they need to be in a place where lasers can shine on them to do that. But the scientists say these robots are an important step toward inventing more helpful tiny robots. 

The researchers say that one day tiny robots like these might be able to work in very small spaces. It's possible that they could build very tiny machines，or perhaps even travel inside the human body to help do with medical problems. 

Using similar building methods，the scientists made a number of different robots，including ones that looked like small insects. John Rodgers，says that their methods allow them to "build walking robots with almost any sizes or 3 D shapes. "

No one is born a winner. People make themselves into winners by their own effort. 

I learned this lesson from a（n）1 many years ago. I worked as a new football coach（教练） at a university in State of Georgia. 

It was a tradition for the school's old team in the club to play against a2 team at the end of the term. The old team had no coach，and they didn't even practice to prepare for the game. Being the coach of the new team，I helped them practice once a week and I thought we were sure to 3 ，but to my surprise，we lost the game. I could 4 believe that I had got into such a situation. After thinking hard about it，I came to realize that I might be too 5 about ourselves. I had to change my attitude （态度） and the way of training. 

Instead of seeing my boys as losers，I pushed and 6 them. I started doing anything I could to help them. That summer，when other teams 7 their holidays，we met every day and practiced passing and kicking the football. 

Six months later，we won our first game and our second，and continued to head in. Finally，we faced the number one team in the state. Before the game，I thought even if we lost the game，it would still be a8 for us. But that didn't happen. My boys beat the best team in the state，giving me one of the 9 memories of my life! 

From the experience，I learnt a lot about how the attitude of a leader could change a team. I helped them to see themselves 10 ，and they built themselves into winners. 

Winners are made，but not born. 

Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic bags. More and more businesses are changing to paper products. Using paper is thought to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful to the environment, too.

Firstly, paper bags are made from trees. Trees, as you know, are good for the environment. They can slow down climate change. An increase in the use of paper bags can cause more deforestation(毁林).

Secondly, the production of paper things requires more energy and water. About 10 percent more energy and four times as much water are used to produce a paper bag than a plastic one. You might say that we can use recycled paper to save that energy and water. This seems to be a good idea. However, it takes even more energy and water to go through the recycling process than to make a new paper bag. Products made from recycled paper are also often short- lived.

Furthermore, paper products are heavier than plastic ones. That means they require more fuel to transport. Seven trucks are needed to transport two million paper bags, while only one truck is needed to transport the same number of plastic bags. The increased weight also leads to a larger amount of waste once the bags are thrown away.

So, paper products are actually a lose- lose result for both the environment and businesses. They are more expensive than plastic products. A paper straw costs about 5 to 12 cents, while a plastic one usually costs only about 2 cents.

In my opinion, the most environment- friendly way is to avoid single- use things altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products. By increasing the use of these items, you can greatly reduce your throwaway waste and truly make our earth a greener place!
