Have you ever heard of water bears? They have lived on the earth for more than 500 million years, long before dinosaurs. Though called "bears", they look completely different from bears! The largest ones are only about 1.4 mm long. Each of their eight legs ends with a claw (爪) . They also have sharp mouths.

Some of the places they live may surprise you! They live deep down in the ocean. It's too dark to see well, and the water from up above is very heavy. But tiny water bears can survive in such a difficult environment. In space, there is no air, water or food. But water bears can live there! Astronauts took some water bears outside the spaceship. Surprisingly, most of them lived. Some even laid eggs. The eggs even hatched into healthy babies!

There is no rain in dry valleys of Antarctica for about two million years. But water bears can survive in such a place! How? First, they curl into a ball. Then they do nothing. They can stay in this way for many years! When they get wet again, they uncurl and start to move around. Sometimes wind or water moves away when they curl up in a ball.

Besides the places mentioned above, water bears also live around us, but we need some effort to find them. If we are careful and lucky enough, maybe we can find one.

When Sally was a child, she went to the city park with her mom on a sunny morning. She felt very unhappy. Her mom saw that and asked why. Sally told her mother that she felt so sorry to see so much rubbish on the ground. 

Her mom looked around. There were pieces of paper, boxes, glass bottles and a lot of other rubbish everywhere. "What can we do?" asked Sally sadly. "I'm sure you will think of something," said her mom. 

As soon as Sally got home with her mom, she painted a picture of the park and wrote a sign in large black letters at the top of the picture. The sign said, "PLEASE KEEP OUR PARK CLEAN". Later, she took plenty of bags and went back to the park with her mom. Sally put up her picture on a big rubbish box. 

The children at the park ran over to see what was going on. Sally handed each of them a bag. "Let's clean up this place," said Sally. Then they began to pick up the rubbish, talking and laughing. Soon, all the bags were full. 

Then Sally's mom led them to put the rubbish into different kinds of rubbish boxes. When they looked at the clean park, they all had a strong feeling of satisfaction. 

From then on, Sally has been keeping doing the cleaning and sorting (分类) rubbish. More and more people joined her to play a part in environment protection.

In the future, we won't use paper {#blank#}1{#/blank#} write on. We can study on computers. And there will be fewer cars and less pollution. Everyone will play a part in protecting the earth. The sea will be cleaner and the sky will be bluer. So {#blank#}2{#/blank#} environment will get better and better. 

I believe people will even have robots in their homes. They can help with the housework. Of course, there are already robots working {#blank#}3{#/blank#} factories now. They do simple jobs over and over again. And they will never {#blank#}4{#/blank#} bored. People will be able to fly to the moon for {#blank#}5{#/blank#} holiday. Perhaps people will live on a space station one day. However, some people disagree. They think it is impossible for humans to live in space. 

We have a lot of troubles in our life, but we have to face them. When you are feeling unhappy or forget how great you are, there are six ways to make you feel good about yourself.

*Look in the mirror and say to yourself, "I'm a special person and there's no one in the world like me. I can do everything!"{#blank#}1{#/blank#}

* {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Helping others always makes you feel happy.

*Smile! {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Look for the good things in your friends and family.

* {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Have you always wanted to decorate your own room or learn how to swim? Go for it! New challenges(挑战) are fun and give you a sense of accomplishment(成就感) when you have finished.

*Write a diary. Turn off the TV and let your imagination(想象力) fly! If you have any thoughts, dreams or anything you want, write them down! {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

*Stay with your family. We all need our family time. Talk with your mom and dad or maybe even your cousins.

 {#blank#}3{#/blank#}  Don't do all the talking. Listen carefully to what your friend has to say. Let your friend know you care about what he or she thinks. 

Learn to forgive (原谅). You should be able to forgive your friends if they do something that hurts you. First, let them know how you feel. If your friends are sorry for what they did, you should forgive them.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}
