A few days later, Sammy had to be away from town for a week. After his return, he decided (find) out the extent (程度) of his wife's hearing loss.
Sammy reached home and called his wife before he entered. Dolly was (prepare) dinner in the kitchen. Sammy heard nothing her. He went to his room and asked her, "I am here. What's for dinner, Dolly?" Again, it was silent.
He then moved to the kitchen and asked her, "Dolly, what's for dinner?" Dolly (become) angry and said, "I am saying it for the third time. It is chicken. Can't you hear me?"
Then, Sammy realised that it was he who had a hearing problem.
