Do you know Tianshui, a big city along the ancient Siłk Road? It is one of the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (最古老的) cities in Gansu Province. So people {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (通常地) visit Tianshui for its history and culture. Things have {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (改变) these days, however. More and more people are traveling there for its spicy hot pot(麻辣烫). According to Trip.com, bookings for hotels and attractions in Tianshui have risen {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (四十) percent from a year ago.

In early February, a student posted a video of the spicy hot pot on social media. So far, the video has quickly deceived 1,000,000 likes. Many people said that they wanted to taste the food {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (他们自己).

What makes the food special in Tianshui? That's all thanks to the seasonings (佐料). {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (蔬菜) and meat are cooked with a mix of peppercorns and red pepper oil. The red pepper is grown in Tianshui's Gangu County (甘谷县). The {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (气候) there makes the pepper look bright red and taste great. This gives the hot pot an unusual look and flavor.

The city's increasing popularity has excited the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (本地的) government. They hope to follow the examples of Zibo and Harbin and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (发展) the city. Since March 11, they have offered two new bus services to take tourists from train stations to dining places. Also, a food festival was {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (举办) to show the delicious food. They hope to make tourists feel at home.

You've had a new treatment, so you look like a 30-year-old man. And many people at your age can live to be 120 now, so at 60, you're not old at all. What's more, science finds amazing ways to keep people healthy. For example, a new technology can help cure many illnesses. And if any part of your body is unhealthy, you can "grow" a new one in a lab.

As you get dressed, you say to your shirt, "urn red." It becomes red. In 2045, you can wear "smart" clothes.

On the way to the kitchen, you want to call a friend. Your phone is by the window because it gets its energy from the sun. But you don't need to pick up the phone. You can just touch your jacket to make the call.

It's breakfast time. You reach for the milk, but a voice says, "Don't drink that!" Your fridge knows the milk is not fresh, and tells the supermarket to replace it. Ten minutes later, you get the new one.

As you leave for work, the lights turn off by themselves. Your home goes into "sleep" to save energy. In 2045, cars drive themselves, so you just tell your driverless car where you want to go. Will all this come true? Maybe the future is much closer than we think.

Recently, researchers have found that dolphins know their own names much like people. Dolphins talk to one another with whistles（口哨）and calls. Scientists have known that the animals also use unusual whistles to name each other. They had thought that dolphins only heard each other's voices. However, the scientists didn't know that dolphins listen for their names too.

To test this idea, the researchers caught 14 dolphins and recorded their name calls. The scientists then copied each dolphin's voice. When the changed recordings were played, the dolphins replied strongly to the names of their relatives and group members. They paid no attention to the names of dolphins they did not know.

Dolphins live in large groups that grow and change. Each dolphin's unusual whistle helps it quickly find a friend or a family member, or call for help. Understanding their calls requires learning. It's a skill that's seen in very few animals, which include humans and elephants.

Elephants, for example, communicate with sound. Their sounds can be heard by other elephants miles away. Dolphins, too, communicate with each other by making sounds like this. Elephants also communicate by moving their head, feet and trunk（象鼻）. In much the same way, dolphins communicate by their movements. They often touch each other to express friendship.

Unlike dolphins, elephants also communicate by their great sense of smell. They can recognize other elephants by the smells they have.

Why do dolphins and elephants share the gift of communication? Scientists think it may be because they are social and smart animals. Both have strong family relationship. Now, whether they also have nicknames（绰号）is another question!

Do you like animals? There is a kind of animal in the South Pole(南极). It has wings and feathers(羽毛), but it can't fly. It is the penguin. 

People found penguins in 1488. Hundreds of years later, people gave them this nice name. They are not tall and they are a little heavy. When they walk, they look very funny. They have a lot of black and white feathers. They make penguins look cute and keep them warm. So they can live in very cold places. 

Penguins can't fly in the air, but they are great swimmers. Penguins spend quite a lot of their time in the water. Sometimes they can stay under the water for about eighteen minutes. Are they practising swimming? No, they are searching for food. What do they usually eat? Little fish is their main food. 

 One morning, Jackie is riding his bike home. He sees his friend, Ms Weasel. Sheís sad. Her bike has a flat tire (爆胎) but she must go to work now.

 Jackie says, "Ms Weasel, you can use my bike first. Tammy will help fix your bike."

"Thank you so much!" Ms Weasel says.

 "Sharing is caring!" Jackie smiles. Then he walks home:

 When Jackie gets home, he finds a big hole (洞) in his trousers. Oh no! He only has one pair of blue trousers!

"Don't worry!" Tammy comes, "I have many trousers. You can wear mine." That makes Jackie happy.

"Sharing is caring." Tammy says happily.

 Jackie then goes into the kitchen to make beef soup for dinner. Tammy comes with some vegetables. "Wow! What delicious beef soup!" she says.

"Let's have it together" Jackie says. "Sharing is caring!"

 Then someone is at the door. It is Ms Weasel"Thank you for your bike today, Jackie. I have a gift for you!"

"Wow! Honey cake! Our favorite!" Tammy says.

"We just made beef soup. Let's have dinner together." Jackie says.

"Thank you!" Ms Weasel sits down, "Sharing is caring!"

Everybody loves oranges. They are sweet and juicy and it is easy to eat them. 

The orange tree is beautiful. It has a lot of shiny (闪亮的) green leaves. The small white flowers smell very sweet. An orange tree has flowers and fruit at the same time. 

Farmers in other parts of Asia (亚洲) and the Middle East (中东) learn to have orange trees from the Chinese. Then they teach Europeans (欧洲人) how to plant orange trees. Later, Europeans take oranges to America. 

In English, orange means both a fruit and a color. We use the name of the fruit for the color.
