Keeping animals and planting vegetables at school? This is what the students are doing at Zhuxi Middle School in Yangzhou, Jiangsu. The school has a small farm. There are seven chickens, three 1 and a pig on the farm. There is also a place for students to 2 vegetables. "We have got potatoes and tomatoes here," says a seventh-grader. "In autumn, we can give 3 to the cooks at our school.

Zhuxi Middle School is not the 4 one to let students do farm work. In Chongqing No.1 Secondary School, we can also see vegetables on the top of the teaching building. Students grow them with the 5 of their parents and teachers. You can easily see their 6 faces when they are farming.

 "We feel so satisfied that we jump up and down happily when we see our hard work can really make the plants grow," a student says. "And it's really a good 7 for us to get close to the nature and relax at school."

Teachers 8 the students can know about subjects like biology more easily by seeing 9 they work in real life. They can know that good results (结果) 10 hard work. And they can also learn to be responsible (责任) by looking after the animals and plants. 

With its beautiful art the cartoon movie Chang An (《长安三万里》) takes us back to the Tang Dynasty (618—907). The stories of Li Bai and Gao Shi come to life before our eyes.

In the movie, Li is a poetry genius (诗歌天才). Gao is a common man. Gao stammers (口吃) when he is young. He also has problems with reading. However, even so, I still like Gao. A girl named Pei Shier wins a fight over him. This makes Gao see that he needed to work harder on his skills. He doesn't make it to the military examination (武考). Then he chooses to read the classics and poems again to get ready for the imperial examination, or keju (科举).

It shows us that Gao always takes a positive attitude (积极的态度) to different problems. In the end, Gao becomes a great military leader and leads his team to win a big fight. From a young boy to an old, Gao walks a long way between reality (现实) and dreams in his life time. Geniuses such as Li Bai are too few. The hard-working Gao Shi, however, is the common people's example to follow.

Essie is a fourth﹣grade student in Wisconsin. She was peacefully eating lunch when she saw another student needed1 . Essie immediately went over and found her classmate Sophia has something stuck in her throat when she was 2 . Essie wanted to do something to help her classmate. 

Essie felt a bit 3 and scared in the situation. She took deep breaths to help herself 4 so she could help her classmate. Later，Essie said to the school newspaper reporter， "I did what I had to do to save Sophia's life

①Like many other dogs, Scuff loves to play with plastic bottles. David Grant and his wife Yvonne Faulkner- Grant always let their 13- year- old dog pick up the plastic bottles he finds while out on their daily walks. 

②In 2021, David and Yvonne noticed Scuff could find even the most well- hidden bottles. They also noticed there was more and more litter in their town. They couldn't believe that people were littering(乱扔) so much since they were both taught never to drop their trash as children. 

③At the start of 2022, David and Yvonne decided to start picking up the bottles. They also decided to train Scruff to gather other people's trash. 

④" When he picked a bottle up in 2021, he would carry it for a while and then drop it again. People would think we were dropping litter. But it wasn't our litter, " said Yvonne, " so we got him to start bringing the bottles to us and we put them in a bag and then counted them up. "

⑤Since starting this journey, Scruff has become famous in his neighborhood. Everybody loves him. 

⑥     ▲      They hope that more people will heat scruff's story and either stop dropping the trash or, perhaps, try picking it up themselves. What's more, they think Scruff has taken on his duties so well that other dogs could easily be trained to do what he does as well. 

⑦" We walk the same route(路线) every day and he finds bottles on that route every day, " said David. " We feel proud that we are picking them up, but a bit angry that they' re even there, " Yvonne agrees. 

⑧Scruff has collected1, 334 bottles. David andhis wife think Scruff has done a really great job. 

⑨And so do we! Picking up litter while taking a walk is a healthy habit that many of us could add to our lives. 

My favourite animal is chameleons(变色龙). I like them because they can change colours. Chameleons change colours when they're not happy or see something {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, or when they're too cold or too hot. Chameleons have a very long tongue(舌头), so they can use it {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their food easily. I think they're amazing animals!

Also, I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} love elephants. I love their big ears and long trunks. Elephants can pick up {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and put it in their mouths with their trunks. But they are in great danger now. People cut down many trees, so they {#blank#}5{#/blank#} their homes now. Everyone must try their best to save and help them. 

Xue Qingqing is a student at Zhejiang University. As she moved into another dormitory（宿舍）, she found {#blank#}1{#/blank#} note from 23 years ago, which read "study hard and make progress every day". The information on it showed that it {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（write） by a student called Fang Qin on January 21,2001.

Xue guessed that Fang was trying to encourage herself to study and wondered {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Fang realized her dreams. "The note must be {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（help）, and she must have achieved her goals, right?" Xue wrote on the school's forum.

 {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（lucky）, Xue finally got in touch with Fang. "It's unbelievable that the note has been kept well for 23 years," Fang told Xue.

Now, Fang becomes the CEO of a platform and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（study） technology. When she was18 years old, Fang felt that she had trouble dealing {#blank#}7{#/blank#}her studies. To push herself harder in the new term, she wrote a note of encouragement. Later, she became{#blank#}8{#/blank#} （hard-working） classmate in her school. "Every day I saw it as soon as I woke up, and it helped {#blank#}9{#/blank#}push myself," Fang said.

The story has warmed many people's {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （heart） online. They say it is wonderful to see that Fang's hard work bears fruit.
