There was once a young mouse that lived in a hole（洞）in a wall. He thought he was a smart and careful animal. 

One day, the young mouse woke up（唤醒）from his sleep and looked out of the hole. As he looked out, a nice 1 came to him. " Cheese" the mouse said happily to himself, "I'll go and 2 it now and have it for breakfast."

But then he remembered his parents 3 . His parents were very wise mice and often said to 4 son, "Always wait before you go for a piece of cheese."

So the young mouse waited quietly. Then he heard a quiet " Miaow" and he knew the cat was there. So he stayed in the hole and said to himself, "I'm happy I 5 my parents` advice and learned to wait."

The next day, he 6 again. At the same time, he put his nose out of the hole slowly, and the same smell came again. This time he could see the cheese! It was only a few centimeters away, 7 be sat still and waited in his hole It's 8 that he did not hear any cat noises. Instead he heard a very quiet "Woof, woof ", a sound just like from a dog. 

"Oh, it's a dog!" he thought, "If the dog is there, the cat won't be there. I expect the dog has chased（追赶）the cat away. So I am 9 ." The mouse ran out of the hole and started eating the cheese. He did not see the cat, which caught him and ate him later. When the cat finished her meal," she said to herself, "I'm glad I listened to my parents and leaned a second 10 . Sometimes, it can really make a difference."

On a sunny afternoon, we decided to visit a place where nature' s beauty spread out like a colorful blanket. As we walked through the gates, we couldn't help but notice how the flowers and greenery attracted everyone's {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（注意). The grass was green and the flowers {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(闻) sweet.

The {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（花园）were filled with people. Different activities {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（牵涉） picnicking and playing games under the shade of the trees. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, smiling and laughing politely at each other 's jokes .

One of the highlights of the day was the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（耐心的）guide. He told us stories about the history of the place and its {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（习俗), making the facts interesting. As we walked {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（沿着）the paths, we found a small board that explained its meaning and the artist who created it. We {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（躺) down on the grass nearby, taking in the fresh air and the beauty as well .

It was more than just a relaxing afternoon ; it was an experience that left us with {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（回忆) that would last a lifetime. And we couldn't help but feel a deeper connection to the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(传统) of our town .We can also raise money for the homeless.

The Chongyang Festival is a traditional festival in China. We also call it the Double Ninth Festival {#blank#}1{#/blank#} it falls on the ninth day of the ninth month on the Chinese lunar (农厉) calendar. It has a history of more than 2,000 years. In Chinese culture, the number nine is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (large) number it's a homonym (同音词) to the Chinese word jiu, which means "a long and healthy life". In ancient(古老的) China, people usually went hiking or climbed mountains {#blank#}3{#/blank#}their family and friends during the festival.

Besides, they {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (drink) Chrysanthemum wine (菊花酒) and ate Chongyang cakes on that day. They thought these could bring them good luck and best {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (wish).

Today, the Double Ninth Festival has {#blank#}6{#/blank#}new meaning. It's a special day for us {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (show) our love to the elders. Some people may go to the old {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (people) homes to give the elders presents and help them, The festival usually {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (come) in the beautiful season of autumn, Many families would like to go for outdoor activities and enjoy {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (they).

Stamp collecting is a fun way for children to learn about the world.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} When the child collects a stamp from a different country, he can find the place on the map and put the stamp there. 

Strangely (奇怪) enough, the first stamp collectors were children. When they grew up, they kept collecting stamps.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Today, many children still have this hobby because it's interesting. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If a child is collecting stamps from different countries, he will ask everyone he knows to send him a letter from any country they visit. 

Many children just like pretty stamps - they really don't care what kind of stamp.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} They like to collect stamps with cartoon characters and lovely animals on them. 

Back when I was a teenager, I was very interested in skiing. My parents first put me on skis when I was two years old. I loved to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. I would go skiing every {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, rain or shine. I started from the very top and ran to the bottom. It was great {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. I was very excited. It was my favorite hope to join a skiing team, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} that never happened.

I moved to Colorado for skiing when I was eighteen. I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} my house, and then I left my hometown. I{#blank#}6{#/blank#} to Denver and drove to the mountains. I didn't know {#blank#}7{#/blank#} I was going, but I came behind a car with skis on top of it—so I followed it {#blank#}8{#/blank#} the way to the mountains.

I was having a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} time. So much fun, in fact, that I didn't see the ski jump (跳台滑雪的助滑道) in front of me. Well, there was nothing I could do, so I jumped. And while I was in mid air, I got so {#blank#}10{#/blank#}.

I'm Anna, a college student. I think I'm quite good at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(cook). Most people seem to enjoy eating the food I cook for them.

I first {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(start) trying to cook when I left home and went to college. I didn't   have much money and it was much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) to cook my own food sh an to eat in the canteen(餐厅). Also, it isn't healthy to eat out too often. One cool thing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} college is that I had a small kitchen. I' ve bought some {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(machine) for cooking. And I' ll buy a blender soon.

I learnt p y {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(I). I used the Internet to look for the recipes(食谱)I was interested  · in. I also asked my parents sometimes. However, when I first started croking, most of my food   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) terrible. But I learnt quite fast. Now,I always invite(邀请) my friends to my room and cook for them {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(celebrate) every festival together.

 Except(除....之外) at {#blank#}9{#/blank#} very beginning,I think I' ve found it quite easy, mainly   {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I enjoy cooking and I enjoy eating. But it's not something that everyone can learn to do. I think some people are just too impatient(没有耐心的) to learn to cook well.
