A group of children from poor families from all over China gather at a baseball camp in Beijing. They live and train together, hoping to change their life through {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (play) baseball.

This is the story of the film Tough Out(《棒！少年》). It came out on December 11, 2020 and it is one of this {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (year) best films with a score of 8.7 out of 10 on Douban.

These children are being helped by Power Baseball Angels, a charity(慈善) programme launched in 2015 by Sun Lingfeng, former captain of China's national men's baseball team.

"Baseball changed my personality, teaching me rules and how {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (live) life. Without it, I would have probably become a bad boy," Sun told China Daily. Sun wants to help poor children in{#blank#}4{#/blank#} same way.

Ma Hu is one of the stars of the film. He {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (raise) by his grandmother in a poor village. He often fights {#blank#}6{#/blank#} others and almost never follows the rules at first. But with the guidance of his coaches, he learns to comfort his teammates instead when they lose a game. "I behaved {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (bad) back then," Ma said. "I'm not like that anymore. My goal is to become a member of the national team in the future."

The film hopes to draw attention to the 40 million children who live in poor {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (condition) in China. Just like Ma, many of the kids in the movie are left-behind children. They don't have much money, education {#blank#}9{#/blank#} parents' care. How can these {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (problem) be solved? The baseball charity programme is offering hope to these kids.

As an old saying goes, "The last leg of a journey marks the halfway point." This is exactly the case with me.

There was a time when I wondered how I should express myself and explain my opinions 1 . My parents and teacher gave me a lot of help, 2 didn't work well. And I often got low marks on writing and failed 3 proper words to express my ideas. So I 4 to make every effort to improve my writing skills. I read ancient poetry loudly every morning. At first, I made great progress, But as I continued, it became much 5 for me to improve myself.

Although 6 process was difficult, I never considered giving up. 7 important writing is! And 8 classmates supported me powerfully. They told me the saying, "The last leg of a journey marks the halfway point." I 9 by the words and I kept going. At last, my teacher was pleased 10 my writing.

I would not ignore (忽视) the value of this experience, because Rome was not built in a day. We have to put in more and more efforts as we reach success little by little.

Here are some accidents which often happen to children:

◆ Scalds (烫伤) — Small children don't understand that hot water and hot drinks can be dangerous. It only takes a cup of tea or coffee, or a bath that's very hot to scald a child badly. 

◆ Falls— Children of all ages fall and hurt themselves from time to time. For babies, the danger is rolling off the edge (从边缘滚下来) of something like beds, chairs or tables. It's very easy for babies of two to four to fall off a piece of furniture, down the stairs, out of a window or off a balcony (阳台).

◆ Burns— Many children die in house fires and more are badly burnt. A cigarette (香烟) can easily start a fire. A child can also be burnt by a hot iron or matches. 

◆ Cuts— Glass causes the most serious cuts. So keep away from broken bottles, doors or windows. 

I'm Tom. I am very busy every day, but I make a plan for my study because I want to be a   good student. I get up at six o' clock every morning. After washing my face and brushing my teeth,  I begin to review(温习) my lessons, Chinese, math, English and so on. I go to school at seven  o' clock. I have four classes in the morning and two in the afternoon. My favorite subject is math because it is useful and fun, and I am good at it.

 After school, I don't have much homework, but there are a lot of after-school activities, such as(比如) music, art and English. I often have dinner at seven o' clock at home, then start my homework. I must finish it before I go to bed. On the weekends, I usually watch TV. Sometimes,I play Chinese chess with my grandpa.

I think having a routine helps me keep healthy and be a good student.

On December 12th, 2024, the World Chess Championship (冠军赛)took place in Singapore. Gukesh Dommaraju{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（赢)the game. Gukesh, who was born in India in{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(五月), 2006, is the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(最年轻的) one to get the title. His victory has encouraged many people{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (做梦) big.

Gukesh played{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (对抗) Ding Liren in the final game. Both players were{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (小心的)from the start, making only five moves in the first hour. They played for almost five hours. On the 55th move of the game, Ding made a{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (严重的)mistake. Gukesh caught the chance and performed{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (好). "I got so excited because I did not really expect to beat him,""Gukesh told reporters.

Gukesh is now the 18th world chess champion. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (然而),he is still focused on improving his skills. "Being the world champion doesn't mean that I'm the best player in the world, there's Magnus, who is No.1 in the world. And I will try harder in the{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (未来)." Gukesh said.
